CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is Mary Schnelle. Wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex to hear your concerns after the service. Stop by and say hello.

 

 

 

F.O.O.D. SUNDAY IS TODAY. This month’s contributions go to CRC and they have requested the following items: Toothpaste, canned soups, vegetables and fruit, peanut butter, tuna fish, spaghetti sauce and boxed meals. Please place items in the grocery carts in the Narthex. There is an envelope for check or cash donations. Last month we contributed $339.07 to Neighborhood Services. Thank you for your support.

 

SPRING FLING FOR HABITAT! Buy yourself a ticket for an “evening out” at Kaufmann’s Tuttle Crossing store AND at the same time benefit Overbrook’s contribution to Habitat for the next “build” of our Clintonville/Beechwold/ Dublin Adopt-A- House Group. On Tuesday, April 5th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. Kaufmann’s will be open ONLY to ticket holders sold by non-profit groups. You will enjoy a 25% shopping pass, a chance to win a $1000 shopping spree, fashion shows and sampling delicious cuisine and fine wines as well as music and demonstrations. Buy a ticket for $10 and the entire ten dollars goes into Overbrook’s Habitat fund. TICKETS WILL BE ON SALE BEFORE AND AFTER THE SERVICE TODAY. Our current house is nearly complete. The Dedication will be on Saturday, April 9, 2005.

 

The Purpose Driven Life discussion group is meeting in the South Parlor from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings. We invite anyone who has read or is presently reading the book, to sign your name on the poster in the Narthex. Please come as you can. We will discuss Purpose 3 - April 3, Purpose 4 - April 10, and Purpose 5 - April 17.

 

THE MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets at 7:30 a.m. this Wednesday, April 6 at Scottie McBean’s in Clintonville. All men all welcome.

NEW GENERATIONS GROUP TO PREPARE LUNCHES FOR OPEN SHELTER. Please meet in the kitchen immediately following the worship service today. We will need

5-6 people to help prepare 150 sandwiches, bags chips, etc. The congregation as a whole can help by donating fresh fruit and cookies for these lunches. Cookies can be put in the freezer downstairs marked OPEN SHELTER. Fruit should be dropped off during the weekend that we serve.

 

ARE YOU READY TO RETIRE? Members of Overbrook who would like to learn first-hand what is offered at Westminster Thurber, our local Presbyterian retirement community, are invited to be guests for lunch on Wednesday, April 13. A presentation will include the various living options and levels of care at the facility, as well as their Senior Independence Services (for in-home health care). A brief tour will follow the luncheon. Please sign up in the office by April 7 if you are interested in attending. The lunch and program will last from 11:15 to approximately 1:30 p.m.

 

INSTALLATION AND ORDINATION OF OFFICERS AND DEACONS. For those who have yet to be installed or ordained we will include this as part of the worship service on April 10, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. If you unable to be here, please contact the church office.

 

THERE ARE MANY OPEN DATES ON THE FLOWER CHART. They include: April 17, May 15 & 22, August 7, September 25, October 23 & 30, November 6 and December 4 & 11. If you are interested in hosting the flowers for any of these dates, please sign up in the church office.

 

A LOST AND FOUND REPORT. We now have quite a collection of items in our lost and found box. Some of the items include: sunglasses, jewelry, cell phone, casserole dishes and plastic bowls. We have reports of lost silver sand-dollar earrings, a pair of reading glasses, a scarf and The Purpose Driven Life book. If you have found any of these items or have lost any of the mentioned items, please check the basket in the Narthex before and after the service.
