FOR YOUR INFORMATION

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is Judith Sandford. Wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex to hear your concerns after the service. Stop by and say hello.

THE MISSION COMMITTEE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR JOYTIME TODAY. During the summer months our Preschool – Grade 6 children gather after the word for children in Rooms 101-102 for Joytime instead of Sunday School. The curriculum is based on a rotation system with the story, craft, music and snack relating to a different theme every 4 weeks. All committees of the church are assigned a week.

FUN BAND REHEARSAL TODAY! We will rehearse from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Bring your instrument and music stand if you have one and get ready to make a joyful noise at our premiere on August 7, 2005. If you have questions, call Sarah Shaffer or Carol Bessey

NEW BEGINNINGS TO PREPARE LUNCHES. Please meet in the downstairs kitchen following the worship service today to make sandwiches and bag chips and cookies. Jim Clark will deliver the sack lunches on Monday to the Men’s Open Shelter.

PLEASE RSVP YOUR DEACON IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND NEIGHBORHOOD NETWORK SUNDAY. On August 7, 2005 the Deacons request that you sit in your designated networks. The resting Deacons will prepare communion for this Sunday. Come and re-acquaint yourselves with your neighbors.

NEXT SUNDAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. Our donations for August go to N.E.E.M.A.P. and they are requesting the following items: Soup (other than chicken noodle), sugar, flour, cereal, Kool-aid, deodorant, razors, feminine products and large brown paper sacks.

HELP NEEDED!! Preschool parking lot attendants are needed for the upcoming year. A sign up sheet is in the church office.

MORE USHERS are needed for Sunday Services. You only serve one Sunday per month. A sign up sheet is in the church office.

NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! Have you ever wanted to “try-out” the choir experience at Overbrook? Well, now is your chance! For three Sunday’s in August (August 14, 21, 28), we will be having summer choir. We meet Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:15 a.m. in the choir room, rehearse, and then sing during worship. Come for one or all 3. Open to high school and up. Any questions, contact Sarah Shaffer.

CLASS ON THE PARABLES COMING THIS FALL! We are pleased to announce that beginning September 12 – October 31 a Bible Study class on the parables will be led. It will be held on Monday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the South Parlor. Be sure to put it on your calendar now.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW! Overbrook’s annual Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on September 12, 2005 from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. Do your part to save a life.

ONE PERSON’S JUNK IS ANOTHER PERSON’S TREASURE! The Annual Boy Scout Garage Sale is coming up on August 20 from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. We ask that items not be brought to the church until the week before the sale.
