         NEXT WEEK: Things get a bit complicated in Romans 6: 1-14 when Paul holds forth on the subjects of sin and grace.

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation.  She will be available in the Narthex to hear your concerns after the service. Stop by and say hello.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS TODAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 – 12:00 p.m.

 

 

NO CHOIR REHEARSALS: There will be no rehearsals for Carol, Canterbury, Westminster choirs on Easter Sunday, March 27. There will be no rehearsal for Chancel Choir on Thursday, March 31. Regular rehearsals will resume on April 3.

 

The Purpose Driven Life class is meeting in the South Parlor from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings. If you are reading the book but can’t attend all of the sessions, please come as you can. Purpose 2 will be discussed March 20, Purpose 3 - April 3, Purpose 4 - April 10, and Purpose 5 -  April 17.

 

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, will meet in the South Parlor today immediately following the worship service for a potluck luncheon. Even though you may have forgotten to prepare a dish, you are welcome to attend.

 

THE MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets this Wednesday, March 23 at 7:30 a.m. at Scottie McBean’s in Clintonville. All men are welcome.

 

MAUNDY THURSDAY, MARCH 24, 2005 COMMUNION SERVICE, AT 7:30 P.M. In the third stained glass window on the south side of the Sanctuary you see sandals, basin, laver, and towel, reminders of Jesus washing disciples’ feet. It meant at least a servant at their feet. Jesus said, “As I have done, do to one another.” Communion will be served and the loose offering goes toward the work of the Deacons.

 

GOOD FRIDAY, MARCH 25, AT NOON we invite you to join us in a brief time together to pray, mark a life ended, brace ourselves for another chapter. The office closes at 12:00.

 

EASTER LILIES STILL ON SALE! Easter comes early this year and now is the time to place your orders. The sign-up sheet is in the office. Order plants in memory or honor of someone close to you during this season of Lent. The price remains at $6.50 each and the deadline for ordering is March 23, 2005.

 

PICTURE DIRECTORY IS COMING SOON! Sign up for pictures before or after the church service today, and Easter Sunday. Picture dates are May 13 (2:00 – 9:00 p.m.), May 14 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.), May 19 (2:00 - 9:00 p.m.), May 20 (2:00 – 9:00 p.m.), May 21 (10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) May 22 (12:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.).

 

PETER COTTON TAIL WILL SOON BE HERE! Our Annual Easter egg hunt will be held Easter Sunday, March 27 at 9:30 a.m. in the Preschool Lobby. There will be three age categories in three different areas of the church grounds. Baskets will be provided. Peter Rabbit could use some help hiding the eggs. Call the church office if you can help.

 

4TH NIGHT FOR MARCH 27 HAS BEEN CANCELLED! As this is Easter Sunday and many of the regular participants are not available, it has been decided to cancel for this month. We will resume on April 24. Have a blessed Easter with family and friends.

 

ARE YOU READY TO RETIRE? Members of Overbrook who would like to learn first-hand what is offered at Westminster Thurber, our local Presbyterian retirement community, are invited to be guest for lunch in the Victorian Dining Room on Wednesday, April 13. A presentation will include the various living options and levels of care at the facility, as well as their Senior Independence Services (for in-home health care). A brief tour will follow the luncheon. Please sign up in the office if you are interested in attending. The lunch and program will last from 11:15 to approximately 1:30 p.m.

 MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW! Reverend Leety will lead a Bible Study on the book of Revelation beginning April 24 at 9:00 a.m. This class will run throughout May excluding May 22. Bill will use his own materials rather than a published curriculum guide.
