PREPARE TO DINE! The Youth Fellowship Groups will hold their Annual Italian Dinner on Saturday, March 19, 2005. The dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. Appetizers will be served in the Narthex and Dinner will be served in Fellowship Hall. We will have the usual fare of salad, spaghetti, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults $5.00 and children up to age 11 $3.50. Tickets will be on sale in the Narthex this Sunday and each Sunday until the dinner.

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

The Purpose Driven Life group is meeting in the South Parlor from 8:45 – 9:45 a.m. on Sunday mornings. If you can’t attend all of the sessions, but are reading the book, please come as you can. The book can be purchased for $10.00 at most book stores in the area. Excluding Easter Sunday, the sessions will begin today and continue through April 17.

 

CROSSOVER YOUTH GAME NIGHT. We will meet at 5:45 p.m. in Fellowship Hall for dinner and then we will go up to the Senior High room to play some games. Bring your favorite game and a friend. We will be done at 8:00 p.m. Next week Movie Night.

 

THE WEDNESDAY EVENING LENTEN SERIES – If you haven’t yet attended a Session, it isn’t too late. The last two weeks Dr.Bouman will focus on The Lord’s Prayer and The Ten Commandments. His insights and remarkable presentation style are memorable. Members of churches all over the city are attending.

 

TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions are designated for Neighborhood Services. They request the following items: Canned soups, vegetables, beef stew, flour and dry beans. Please place your items in the grocery carts in the Narthex. Last month’s donation to N.N.E.M.A.P. was in the amount of $341.50.

 

EASTER LILIES ON SALE NOW! Easter comes early this year and now is the time to place your orders. The sign-up sheet is in the office. Order plants in memory or honor of someone close to you during this season of Lent. The price remains at $6.50 each and the deadline for ordering is March 13, 2005.

 

INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK COMES TODAY. Overbrook will host homeless families Sunday, March 6 - 12, 2005. Look for the sign up sheets on the bulletin board outside the Parlor for food items or hosting duties. Thank you to all who so generously give of their food and time. It is greatly appreciated.

 

MANY, MANY THANKS to all who contributed to the Teacher Appreciation Breakfast last Sunday.  Approximately 25 teachers of children, youth and adults attended the breakfast and were thanked for their willingness to be used by the Holy Spirit and serve God and our church.

 

THE MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP will be meeting at 7:30 a.m. this Wednesday, March 9, at Scottie McBean’s Restaurant. New members are always encouraged to attend.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS will be held next Sunday, March 13 in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 – 12:00 p.m.

 

CIRCLE 5 will meet, March 10, at 9:30 a.m.  We are currently studying “That the World May Know”, so please read Faith Lesson 17.

 

CIRCLE THREE will meet March 12 at 12:00 noon. The program will be “Let’s Get Organized.”

 

ADD-A-COUPLE 1 will have a progressive dinner on March 12, 2005. It will be at Overbrook and we will meet at 6:30 p.m. Looking forward to seeing you all there!

 

THE NEW GENERATION GROUP will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day a little early by going to Fitzgerald’s at Carriage Place on Saturday evening, March 12. This is an adults only event and childcare will be provided by our Youth at the church. Please drop off your children between 6:00 – 6:30 p.m. Pizza and drink will be provided. Adults meet at Fitzgerald’s at 7:00 p.m.

 

SPECIAL LENTEN MUSIC. Overbrook’s own Chancel Choir with orchestra will be performing Handel’s Messiah, including the Hallelujah Chorus, during the worship service on Sunday, March 13, 2005. The choir is augmented by numerous friends and members of the congregation who signed-on for the Messiah.
