CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is Betty Bryan. Wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex to hear your concerns after the service. Stop by and say hello.

 

 

FINANCE UPDATE AS OF MARCH 31, 2005. Total Revenue $38,230.35; Total Expenditures $44,287.34; Net Revenue over Expenses ($6,056.99).

 

INQUIRERS’ CLASS CONTINUES TODAY and runs four consecutive Sundays when on May 15 candidates will be welcomed into the congregation. If you, or someone you know would be interested in becoming a member, please call the church office.

 

BIBLE STUDY ON THE BOOK OF REVELATION CONTINUES! Reverend Leety will lead the study. It will be held on Sunday mornings in the South Parlor at 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. The dates remaining are May 15, 29, June 5, 12. Please sign-up in the church office.

 

CROSSOVER YOUTH - Meet at the church at 5:45 for pizza and salad. We will go upstairs to finalize plans for Youth Sunday. We will be done by 8:00 p.m.

 

F.O.O.D. SUNDAY TODAY! Our May contributions go to NNEMAP and they have indicated some special needs. They request tea, Kool-aid, baby juice and cereal, disposable razors, deodorant, rice, instant potatoes, flour, canned soups and vegetables. Please place your donated items in the grocery carts in the Narthex. There is an envelope for any cash or check donations.

 

OPEN SHELTER LUNCHES. Session members are responsible for preparing the sack lunches for Open Shelter today. Please meet in the kitchen immediately following the worship service. Members of the congregation are encouraged to bake some cookies or brownies or donate fresh fruit such as bananas or oranges as well. Please mark them for Open Shelter and put the cookies in the freezer and bring the fruit that weekend.  Thank You!

 

CIRCLE 3 will meet today after the church service to car pool to Scottie McBean’s for brunch.

 

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP will meet this Wednesday, May 4 at Scottie McBean’s beginning at 7:30 a.m. All men are welcome to attend.

 

“MUFFINS WITH MOM” All moms and children are invited to attend “Muffins with Mom” on Sunday, May 8th at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Join us for a special Mother’s Day treat and gift. A sign-up sheet is in the office. There will be NO SUNDAY SCHOOL THAT DAY!

 

PRAYER FELLOWSHIP NEEDS A FEW VOLUNTEERS. On National Day of Prayer, May 5, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. we need people to pray and to welcome those who come to pray in the chapel. If you can come for an hour or two, please call.

ADD-A-COUPLE II will have breakfast at Highbanks Metropark on May 14, 2005 at 8:30 a.m. at a shelter house down by the river.

 

 A PENTECOST INTERGENERATIONAL EVENT will be on Sunday, May 15th at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. We will be celebrating Pentecost with activities and refreshments. There will be NO SUNDAY SCHOOL THAT DAY EITHER!

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS will be on May 15 instead of May 8 in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 12:00.

 

CALLING ALL GRADUATES. The coordinator of Christian Education is trying to compile a list of those who will be graduating this year. This includes Seniors from High School, undergraduate studies, Master Degrees, etc. We will recognize these scholars during the worship service on June 12, 2005. There is a sign-up sheet in the church office.

 

TRYING TO KEEP COSTS DOWN! The florist the church uses gives us discounted prices and they are asking if we could return any reusable vases. If you have any you are not using, please bring them to the church office and we will see that they get back to the florist.

 

CPR FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY will be offered at Overbrook on Tuesday, May 31st from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. A limited number of people will be able to participate. The cost is $10.00 per person. Please sign-up in the church office. If you have any questions, please call Sue Mooney at 268-7207. This is a great way to learn the basics of CPR.
