CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is Karen Freudenreich. Wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex to hear your concerns after the service. Stop by and say hello.

 

F.O.O.D. SUNDAY.  Our food donations last week for NNEMAP were valued at $501.80.

 

BIBLE STUDY ON THE BOOK OF REVELATION CONTINUES! Reverend Leety will lead the study. It will be held on Sunday mornings in the South Parlor at 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. The dates remaining are May 15, 29, June 5, 12. Please sign-up in the church office.

 

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY.  At “Muffins with Mom” this morning, a devotional book for Moms was given to each mother in attendance. Additional books are available in the Narthex for your enjoyment. These books are a courtesy of the Board of Deacons.

 

CIRCLE 4 will meet May 11, 2005 and will have lunch at the home __________. If you would like to carpool, meet in the church parking lot at 11:00 a.m. Maps will be available this Sunday. Remember this is our last meeting until September.

 

CIRCLE 5 will meet Thursday, May 12 at 9:30 a.m. in the Library. We will be starting a new Faith Lesson series: “Prophets and Kings.”

SPRING CLEAN-UP DAY, SATURDAY, MAY 14. Please join the Properties Committee from 9:00 a.m. to noon in sprucing up our church grounds. We will have lots of topsoil to move, so bring your wheelbarrows and shovels. Come as your schedule allows.

 

ADD-A-COUPLE II will have breakfast at Highbanks Metropark on May 14, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. at a shelter house down by the river.

 

ADD–A-COUPLE I will meet on May 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the South Parlor for a potluck dinner. There will be a guest speaker, Dr. Sharon Schmidt from the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation.

 

NEW GENERATIONS is having a progressive dinner on May 14 beginning at 6:30 p.m. Our Senior High Youths will provide childcare here at church and serve pizza and drinks. If you would like to attend and did not receive an e-mail, please contact the church.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS NEXT SUNDAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.12:00 noon.

 

A PENTECOST INTERGENERATIONAL EVENT will be next Sunday, at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. We will be celebrating Pentecost with activities and refreshments. There will be NO SUNDAY SCHOOL THAT DAY!

 

PENTECOST SUNDAY, MAY 15, 2005. The sacrament of Holy Communion will be served and there will also be a Pentecost Offering taken. This offering supports mission with children at risk, youth, and young adults, through the following ministries: Congregational ministries on behalf of children at risk (40%); General Assembly ministries with youth and young adults (25%); Advocacy at the denominational level on behalf of children at risk (10%) and PC (USA) Young Adult Volunteer opportunities (25%). Pentecost Offering envelopes are in the pew racks.

 

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, will meet Sunday, May 15, in the South Parlor for a potluck luncheon, immediately following the worship service.

 

INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK COMES NEXT SUNDAY. Please stop by the bulletin board across from the Parlor and sign-up for bringing food, being a dinner or overnight host.

 

CALLING ALL GRADUATES. The Coordinator of Christian Education is trying to compile a list of those who will be graduating this year. This includes High School seniors, undergraduates, and those receiving advanced degrees. We will recognize these scholars during the worship service on June 12, 2005. There is a sign-up sheet in the church office.

 

NEEDED! REUSABLE VASES. In order to keep our costs down, our florist is requesting we return any vases suitable for larger flower arrangements. Bring them to the office.

 

CPR FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY will be offered at Overbrook on Tuesday, May 31st from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. A limited number of people will be able to participate. The cost is $10.00 per person. Please sign-up in the church office. If you have any questions, please call Sue Mooney at 268-7207. This is a great way to learn the basics of CPR.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW! The 2005 Rose Luncheon will be held June 2, beginning at 12:00 noon in Fellowship Hall. Tickets will be on sale May 15, 22 and 29 in the Narthex. The cost remains at $5.00. There will be good food, an enjoyable program and plenty of great fellowship. Hope to see you there.
