CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is Cathy Dolby. Wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex to hear your concerns after the service. Stop by and say hello.

 

BUILDING WILL BE CLOSED May 30, 2005 in observance of Memorial Day. Please pray for the men and women who so bravely serve.

 

BIBLE STUDY ON THE BOOK OF REVELATION CONTINUES! Reverend Leety will lead the study. It will be held on Sunday mornings in the South Parlor at 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. The dates remaining are May 29, June 5, 12. Please sign-up in the church office.

 

4th NIGHT TAIZE SERVICE TONIGHT! Come for a relaxing evening of prayer and worship. We begin at 5:45 with pizza and salad, worship service at 6:30 and the L.I.F.T. groups meet from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. The L.I.F.T. group will be reading and discussing 1 and 2 Thessalonians and the Faith and Fiction group will discuss Thread of Grace by Mary Doria Russell. Pastor Jon Siehl leads the Taize Worship and is accompanied by Joyce Beauvais on the piano.  

 

CAFÉ MOZART TO HOST CRC FUNDRAISER. The owners of Café Mozart, Anand and Doris Saha, will be hosting their eighth annual fundraiser for The Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resourses Center (CRC). This year’s event will be held Monday evening, May 23 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 4490 Indianola Avenue site. Besides a varied evening menu, fine wine, coffees and desserts, there will be a Silent Auction featuring area retailers. A trio headed up by Paul Love will provide live music. Prices for the event are quite reasonable, being $40 for an individual and $75 for a couple.

 

CPR FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY will be offered at Overbrook on Tuesday, May 31st from 6:00 – 9:30 p.m. A limited number of people will be able to participate. The cost is $10.00 per person. Please sign-up in the church office. If you have any questions, please call Sue Mooney at 268-7207. This is a great way to learn the basics of CPR.

 

TICKETS STILL ON SALE! The 2005 Rose Luncheon will be held June 2, beginning at 12:00 noon in Fellowship Hall. Tickets will be on sale today and May 29 in the Narthex. The cost remains at $5.00. There will be good food and plenty of great fellowship. The program will feature vocalist, Johnny Steiner. Hope to see you there.

 

STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL LUNCHEON will be June 5 at 12:00 noon in Fellowship Hall. We will have sloppy joes, baked beans, chips, relish trays, and of course STRAWBERRIES, ICE CREAM AND CAKE. To donate a cake, sign-up in the office or call them at 261-1040.

 

OPEN SHELTER – JUNE 5. Add-A-Couple II is responsible for preparing the lunches this month. They will be meeting in the kitchen immediately following the service to make sandwiches, bag chips and cookies, juice boxes and fruit. The congregation responded very well to making cookies and donating fruit. Keep up the good work.

 

COVENANT GATHERING 2005. Deadline for registering for this years’ Synod School is June 10. The event will be held June 26 – July 2, 2005 at the College of Wooster. The cost is $235.00 per adult. Course booklet and registration forms are available in the Narthex.
