THIS WEEK AT OVERBROOK
DO YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT MEDICARE DRUG COVERAGE? If you would like to attend a session to learn more about Medicare Drug Coverage, contact Sue Mooney at 268-7207 or leave a message at church at 261-1040. If we have enough people needing help with this decision we will try to schedule a speaker on Medicare Part D.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN PRAYER Reverend Jonathan C. Siehl
Creator God, you mint us in your image. You press into our
being a spirit that mirrors your Spirit. Give us discernment to nurture
impressions of spirit, to seek in the murky depths of our being stirrings of
the spirit…love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness,
gentleness and self-control. In generosity, we spend a coin of the realm in your
kingdom. Turn your Spirit in us loose in your realm, that love may abound, Turn
your Spirit in us loose in your kingdom here and now, that generosity may
abound. Free up your spirit of generosity in us, that we may give our material
wealth with abandon, for your kingdom in this church, in this city, in this
place. Amen.

GIFTS FOR THE FUTURE UPDATE! There has been great progress in the Gifts for the Future Campaign. As of November 21, here are the results: Annual stewardship for the next three years total $936,312. Capital gifts total $456,321. Those who have not yet been asked to support the campaign should expect to be contacted soon. The Gifts for the Future is a two-part endeavor. It is a Stewardship Campaign to fund church programs and ministries that make up the annual budget. Its goal is $540,000 annually over the next three years. It is also a Capital Funds Campaign for making improvements and repairs to the church building. Its goal is $750,000. OPERATION HOME BOUND – a mission project for the families of the
New Generation group. At their December gathering they will pack bags or boxes
of treats for the homebound members of Overbrook. We would like the
congregation to donate items for the boxes. Please see the complete list of
suggested items on the poster above the decorated box in the Narthex. We also
need medium sized boxes or holiday gift bags and wrapping paper to be donated.
All donations need to be at the church by December 4. The children of our group will make cards,
wrap and decorate, fill the boxes and deliver them to the members.
THE CHRISTMAS CAROL BUFFET IS DECEMBER 4,
2005. Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. in Fellowship
Hall. We take a break from hustle and bustle to enjoy an evening of friends,
food, and seasonal music. Bring a dish to share to serve 12-16. Ham, turkey,
rolls and beverage will be provided. Again this year there will be A SECRET SANTA SHOP so children can buy
Christmas gifts for family or friends—All items under $5. Proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity along with
the proceeds from the Friendship Class Bake Sale. The evening will be topped
off with a Carol Sing-A-Long and a visitor from the North Pole. Come and enjoy.
