CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is Polly Boring. Wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex to hear your concerns after the service. Stop by and say hello.

 

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, meets TODAY in the South Parlor for a potluck luncheon, immediately following the worship service. Even though you may have forgotten to prepare a dish, you are welcome to attend.

 

BLOOD DRIVE REPORT. The Wellness Committee would like to thank all of you who attempted to donate blood.  We added 36 units to the pool. There were approximately 12 people who were unable to donate for various reasons.

 

CIRCLE 2 meets in the Parlor on Tuesday, September 20 at 9:30 a.m. Linda McClanahan will present Lesson I of the “Horizons Bible Study”, “For Everything, A Season”. Please come and join us for study and fellowship.

THE PRESBYTERY OF SCIOTO VALLEY will meet at Portsmouth Second Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, September 20 at 4:00 p.m. If interested in carpooling, please contact the church office.

 

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets this Wednesday, September 21 at Scottie McBean’s in Clintonville at 7:30 a.m. All men are welcome.

 

HEAR YE!  HEAR YE! A town meeting will be held in the Parlor next Sunday, September 25, 2005. Topics to be discussed include: presentation of an Ecumenical Associate, Capital Campaign, Stewardship Campaign and a review of the Open House/Fair.

 

4TH NIGHT TAIZE SERVICE begins again on September 25. The worship service will commemorate the life of Taize’s founder, Brother Roger, whose untimely and tragic death just occurred this summer in France. If you have never attended, before this would be an ideal time to participate in this contemplative, peaceful service. It will be led by Rev. Jon Siehl and accompanied by Joyce Beauvais and Suzanne Hayes. Crafts will be provided for the children by Susie Belknap. Dinner will be at 5:45 p.m. consisting of hot dogs or chili dogs and we request that you bring a salad or finger food. Worship begins at 6:30 followed by the discussion groups from 7:00 – 8:15 p.m. The L.I.F.T. group will have a planning session for the coming months and the Faith and Fiction group will discuss the book Gilead”.

 

ANNUAL CONGREGATION MEETING. The Annual Congregation Meeting to elect officers will be held in the sanctuary following worship on Sunday, September 25, 2005.  The congregation will receive the report of the Committee on Nominations for the election of Elders and Deacons.
