Come, Sing a Song of Harvest
*CALL TO WORSHIP
Psalm 100 (NRSV)
Make
a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship
the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he that made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his
pasture.
Enter
his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.
Give thanks
to him, bless his name.
For
the Lord is good;
his
steadfast love endures forever,
and his
faithfulness to all generations.
*PROCESSIONAL HYMN # 551 Come, Ye Thankful People, Come
*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE on
Matthew 25:37b/wrl
Jesus
says, “the righteous will answer him,
‘Lord,
when was it that we saw you hungry …?’”
Lord, we confess our shortcoming—
We just haven’t seen you;
And it doesn’t occur to us
that seeing your children hungry,
we see you.
Forgive, Lord.
Forgive again and still; and mend our vision and sight and ways.
(time for silent, personal confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE on Psalm 100
The
Lord is good;
his
steadfast love endures forever,
and his
faithfulness and forgiveness to all generations.
*THE PEACE
The
peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you.
(Worshipers greet one another with words
and gestures of God’s peace)
