FOR YOUR INFORMATION

 

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is aHHa wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

 

TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. April’s donations go to Clintonville Community Resources Center and they have requested the following items: tuna, any canned vegetables except green beans, canned pasta, peanut butter, diapers, shampoo and toothpaste. Place food items in the grocery carts in the Narthex along with register tapes. To donate money please use the large envelope attached to the cart for cash, or checks made payable to Overbrook Church. All donations are appreciated.

 

INQUIRERS’ COURSE CONTINUES. If you are interested in learning more about being a Presbyterian or would like to join our church family, meet in the Library at 9:00 a.m. for the next two Sundays. Session will meet with prospective members on April 9 prior to the worship service. If you are not able to attend all of the classes, come to as many as you can. Please let the church office know if you plan to attend. A reception in the Parlor to welcome our new members will follow the worship service next Sunday.

 

OVERBROOK WOMEN’S CIRCLES are responsible for preparing the Trinity Lunches today. Meet downstairs in the kitchen following the service to bag cookies, chips and make sandwiches.

 

WE SERVE THE YWCA FAMILY CENTER TODAY! Overbrook is responsible for the dinner meal today. We serve the meal and provide fellowship for the homeless families of Columbus. Volunteers usually prepare stew at 2:00 p.m.; transport the meal at 5:00 p.m.; serve from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and return to Overbrook by 8:00 p.m. Sign up sheets are on the bulletin board across from the Parlor.

 

MID & SENIOR HIGH YOUTH AND THEIR PARENTS meet at 5:45 p.m. tonight for a light dinner with the Christian Education Committee followed by discussion of  the Mid & Sr. High Sunday School and Youth Fellowship Programs. Children and Youth are a vital part of the growth of this church and your input is very important.

 

THE PRESCHOOL THANKS YOU! It was a beautiful day to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the preschool with the Open House – Art Show – Silent Auction – Dedication of the Playground. The Silent Auction brought in $2000 to be used for art week and scholarships. There were many tears shed at the dedication of the playground in memory of Michael Breschi, a boy who loved to play.

 

HELP BEAUTIFY THE SANCTUARY FOR EASTER. Orders are now being taken for Easter Lilies or Spring Flowers. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the Narthex. Deadline for orders is Friday, April 7. New this year, you have a choice of ordering Easter lilies or a mixed variety of spring flowers.  The price remains at $6.50 each and can be purchased in honor or memory of someone special or loved ones. Plants can be taken from the Sanctuary following the 10:30 a.m. April 16, Easter Service.

 

SAVE THE LAST DANCE! On April 8 the New Generation Fellowship Group meets at the church at 5:00 p.m. for a potluck supper. After supper the adults will remain in Fellowship Hall for some beginning ballroom dance lessons with instruction by members of Overbrook who are advanced ballroom dancers. Children will go to another area in the church for movies and/or dancing of their own. For more information or to RSVP for the dinner and childcare, call Sarah Sams/Paul Hambrock at 876-5878.

PETER COTTON TAIL IS HOPPING DOWN THE BUNNY TRAIL preparing for the Easter Egg Hunt here at Overbrook on Easter Sunday, April 16. Gather in the Preschool Wing at 9:30 a.m. There will be three age groups. If you have your own basket, you may bring it with you. Otherwise baskets are furnished. Peter could use some volunteers to help hide the eggs. If you are available, please let Amy Christie know.
