TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she

HI NEIGHBOR! Take a few moments to find your name tag and
put it on so that fellow worshipers will have the opportunity to meet and learn
new names. Try to remember to put it back on the board before you leave.
4TH NIGHT TAIZE SERVICE TONIGHT. Come join us for this very spiritual uplifting
Taize worship service beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. There will be no
Bible Study or Faith and Fiction groups meeting this month.
BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS NEXT SUNDAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 – 10:30
and 11:30 – 12:00 noon. It is especially important that our members advanced in
age to have their blood pressure checked regularly.
NEXT SUNDAY IS THE LAST SUNDAY OF SUMMER
CHOIR. The Chancel Choir will be back in full swing September
10th and now would be a good time to join the choir. We rehearse on
Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m. in the Choir Room next to the Kitchen.
NEXT SUNDAY IS THE LAST JOYTIME and it
is the responsibility of the Worship Committee. Someone will meet the
children at the Sanctuary doors following the Word with Children and take them
to Room 101 for a bible lesson, craft and snack.
NEXT SUNDAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions go to Neighborhood
Services. They request the following: soup, canned vegetables and fruit, baby
food and personal hygiene items. Please place items in the grocery carts in the
Narthex.
NO TRINITY LUNCHES IN SEPTEMBER! As Monday, September 4th is a
National Holiday, we are not responsible for preparing the lunches. On October
1 the Youth Fellowship is responsible for preparing the lunches.
CONGREGATIONAL BREAKFAST – To kick off the beginning of the 2006-2007
Sunday School program, the Christian Education Committee will serve breakfast
in Fellowship Hall from 8:30 – 9:40 a.m. on Sunday, September 10, 2006. There
will also be a Continental Breakfast available in the Narthex for those
attending the Election Preview Adult Forum. This will give you an opportunity
to meet our new Coordinators of Education, Deb Bowsher and Betsy Maurath, up
close and personal.
INQUIRER’S CLASS BEING OFFERED. Anyone interested in learning more about
being a Presbyterian or joining the Overbrook family are welcome to attend. The
next class will be held September 10, 17 and October 1, when the class will
meet with Session and be received into the congregation during the 10:30
worship service. We will skip September
24th due to the Town Meeting. The Membership Committee will host a
reception after the 10:30 service on October 1. If you wish to attend this
class, please notify the church office.
