SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE CONTINUES through July 30. Morning Prayer begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Parlor, and regular Service for The Lord’s Day at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions go to CRC. Summer is here and kids are out of school so they request: tuna, soup, macaroni & cheese, peanut butter & jelly, Spaghettio’s, Kool-aid, mayonnaise, relish, mustard, catsup and paper products. Please place items in grocery carts in the Narthex. Our donations will be added to the summer food drive which CRC is sponsoring. See article below.

TRINITY LUNCH PREP TODAY. The Fellowship & Finance Committees are responsible for making the sandwiches, bagging cookies and packing the lunch bags. Meet in the fellowship kitchen following the service. Anyone is welcome to join them to help out.

JOYTIME NEXT SUNDAY is the responsibility of the Stewardship Committee. Someone will meet the children at the Sanctuary doors following the Word with Children and take them to Room 101 for a bible lesson, craft and snack.

SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM BEGINS TOMORROW and is sponsored by CRC who requested the volunteer services of churches to provide free hot lunches to children who receive free lunches during the school year. This summer begins our third year in this program. Our week is July 3, 5-7. We could use 2 volunteers for each day to work that week.

CRC SUMMER FOOD DRIVE. On July 4 the Community Resource Center will be holding a summer food drive. It is a time of year when donations often slow down. Canned goods and non-perishables will be collected behind the Whetstone Library and in front of the Park of Roses shelter house from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please consider bringing donations to either location on that day. Starting today, there will also be a box in the Narthex to collect your donations for the drive.

YANKEE DOODLE PICNIC. What better day of the year to have a picnic than the 4th of July? We gather at 6:00 p.m. for a potluck dinner. Ice Cream will be provided by the Fellowship Committee. There will be patriotic crafts and games for the kids and door prizes to be won.

WHO’S TURNING 100? Deborah Dearing is, and your invited to join her and her family for an open house at Westminster Thurber on July 8, 2006 from 2-4:00 p.m. No Gifts – Cards Welcome.

WE SERVE YWCA FAMILY CENTER NEXT SUNDAY. Overbrook is responsible for the second Sunday of each month to prepare & serve the dinner meal and provide fellowship for the homeless families of Columbus. Volunteers usually prepare stew at 2:00 p.m.; transport and serve from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Look for the sign-up sheets on the bulletin board across from the Parlor.

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS NEXT SUNDAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 12:00 noon.

THE FLOWER CHART HAS SEVERAL OPENINGS. We need flowers hosts for the following Sundays: July 23, 30; August 6, 20; September 10, 24 and October 29. If you have a special occasion falling on any of these dates and you would like to host the flowers for that Sunday, the chart is in the church office. You can order the flowers yourself or we will order them for you.

PRESCHOOL SUMMER ADVENTURE PROGRAM. Session 1: Castles, Dragons & Fairy Princesses runs July 10-14 and Session 2: Sand, Surf, Sun & Fun runs July 17-21. The program is from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and the cost is $75.00 per Session. Registration forms are on the table at the Preschool entrance.

THE FUN BAND RETURNS! Now is your chance – dust off that clarinet – brush off the saxophone. Get ready to have lots of fun and make great music! We’ll rehearse on Sunday, July 23 and July 30 from 11:30 – 1:00 p.m. Performance after lunch on August 6, 2006. Seats are open for beginners as well as “seasoned” players! Remember – not much prior experience needed. Any questions, or if you need an instrument, see Sarah Shaffer.
