FOR YOUR INFORMATION

 

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

 

SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE BEGINS NEXT WEEK. Morning Prayer Service begins at 8:30 a.m. in the Parlor and regular Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

 

A REPEAT PERFORMANCE OF BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS TODAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 -10:30 and 11:30-12:00, just in case you missed last week.

 

SUMMER BIBLE STUDY OFFERED. The Sunday dates are June 18, 25, July 9, 16 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the South Parlor. Rev. Jonathan Siehl will lead the study of Paul’s letter to the Philippians using the Interpretation Bible Study Guide. Cost of the book is $5.00 and can be purchased in the church office. Jon would like you to read the Introduction and Chapter 1 for the first class.

 

WE SAID THANK YOU TO OUR TEACHER VOLUNTEERS THIS MORNING with a breakfast in Fellowship Hall. The Christian Education Committee thanks all of you for jobs well done and wishes all children a fun and safe summer break.

 

WE SERVE THE YWCA FAMILY CENTER TODAY. Overbrook is responsible the second Sunday of each month to prepare and serve the dinner meal, and provide fellowship for homeless families of Columbus. Volunteers usually begin stew at 2:00 p.m.; transport the meal at 5:00 p.m.; serve from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and return to Overbrook by 7:30 p.m.  The sign-up sheets for other items needed, can be found on the bulletin board across from the Parlor.

 

THE MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets Wednesday, June 14 at 7:30 a.m. at Scottie MacBean in Clintonville. All men are welcome.

 

THE WOMEN OF OVERBROOK COORDINATING TEAM will meet on Wednesday, June 14th at 2:00 p.m. to set up new financial accounts. Each circle is asked to send a representative.

 

OUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS are with commissioners attending General Assembly in Birmingham, Alabama at the end of this week.

 

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, will meet next Sunday, June 18, in the South Parlor for a potluck luncheon immediately following the worship service.

 

JOYTIME BEGINS NEXT SUNDAY! Children are dismissed to Room 101 after the Word for Children for a lesson, craft and snack, led by the various committees of the church.

 

ARE YOU SIGNED UP FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL? It is not too late! Forms are in the church office. This year’s VBS runs June 19 – 23 and is entitled “Adventure of the Treasure Seekers,” exploring God’s promises. The children will become archeologists searching for treasures. Teachers to be commissioned during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on June 18.

 

OUR LOST AND FOUND BOX IS OVERFLOWING. We have accumulated many glasses and glass cases, coats, gloves, earrings, etc. If you have recently misplaced something, stop in the office and look in the lost and found box located in the closet.

 

ADD A LITTLE SOMETHING TO OUR CELEBRATION GARDEN. If you have never been out there, check it out. It is a quiet place to meditate, enjoy nature, or even take a nap. The patio bricks are donated by people to celebrate a birth, in remembrance of a death, or a special event. The bricks cost $50.00 and order forms are located in the church office.

 

MISSION TRIP STOCK SHARES ARE STILL AVAILABLE. This year’s trip is to Lake Higgins in Michigan where our youth will do repair work and general cleanup of the Presbyterian camp. The youth and adults will be commissioned during the 10:30 a.m. worship service on June 25.
