9:00 A.M. ADULT FORUM – Conclusion to Fred Hitzhusen’s “Caring for Creation” Adult Forum Series. We will discuss immediate action and develop longer term goals for Overbrookers. (Bring your own coffee cup for pre-church coffee)

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

 

BIBLE STUDY ON THE BOOK OF JONAH CONCLUDES next Sunday morning from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the South Parlor. The class is led by Rev. William Leety.

 

SUMMER BIBLE STUDY COMING. Beginning June 18 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the South Parlor, Rev. Jonathan Siehl will lead a bible study of Paul’s letter to the Galatians. We will be using the Interpretation Bible Studies Study Guide. Please signup in the office by June 8th so we will know how many books to order. Cost of the book is $5.00.

 

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GOES TO JBRC today right after the Strawberry Festival for an afternoon of leisurely activities.

 

TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions go to Neighborhood Services. They request the following items: cooking oil, pasta helpers, pancake mix, syrup, soup, cereal, canned meats, canned vegetables, personal care products and household cleaning supplies. Place food items in the grocery carts in the Narthex along with register tapes. To donate money please use the large envelope attached to the cart for cash, or checks made payable to Overbrook Church. All donations are appreciated.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS TODAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 12:00 noon.

 

STRAWBERRY –ICE CREAM FESTIVAL TODAY! Join us in Fellowship Hall immediately following the worship service for lunch consisting of sloppy joes, baked beans, chips, relish tray and of course, cake, strawberries with ice cream.

 

NEW BEGINNINGS is responsible for preparing Trinity Lunches today. The kitchen is very busy this day with the Deacons preparing Communion and the Strawberry Luncheon, that we are moving the lunch prep upstairs to the South Parlor.

 

DEACONS WILL SERVE HOME COMMUNION to our shut-in members today following the worship service.

 

TEACHER APPRECIATION BREAKFAST NEXT SUNDAY. There will be no Sunday School. Instead, we will celebrate the end of the year and recognize teacher volunteers in Fellowship Hall at 9:30. All Sunday School children and the volunteers are invited to attend.

 

YWCA FAMILY CENTER NEXT SUNDAY. Overbrook is responsible the second Sunday of each month to prepare the dinner meal, serve it and provide fellowship for homeless families of Columbus. Volunteers usually begin stew at 2:00 p.m.; transport the meal at 5:00 p.m.; serve from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. and return to Overbrook by 7:30 p.m.  The sign-up sheets for other items needed, can be found on the bulletin board across from the Parlor.

 

NANCY BY REQUEST CD’S ON SALE! Nancy Deeth and Marilyn Rodgers are generously designating “donation” proceeds to establish a fund to allow continuing renovation of the pipe organ from time to time. We hope donors will make a benchmark contribution of $15 for each disc. CD’s are available in the church office. These CD’s make great birthday, anniversary or Christmas gifts.

 

REGISTRATION FOR VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL is under way. Forms are in the church office. This year’s VBS runs June 19 – 23 and is entitled “Adventure of the Treasure Seekers,” exploring God’s promises. The children will become archeologists searching for treasures.
