FOR YOUR INFORMATION

 

CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

 

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is aHHa wearing a yellow carnation, he will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

 

LISTENING ELDER FOR MARCH will be available for listening in the Narthex after the worship service today. Feel welcome to convey to him any matter in our congregation’s life that you would like to have passed on to the Session.

 

PRESCHOOL ART SHOW, SILENT AUCTION AND OPEN HOUSE TODAY from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. The Silent Auction Baskets are in the Narthex for you to bid on. Bid high and bid often. Proceeds go towards equipment and programs for the Preschool. Visit the various classrooms for artwork made by the children of our Preschool, enjoy refreshments and the many activities for kids. At 2:00 p.m. please join us to dedicate the playground to the memory of Michael Breschi, a dear little boy who loved to play.

 

NEXT SUNDAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. April’s donations go to Clintonville Community Resources Center and they have requested the following items: tuna, any canned vegetables except green beans, canned pasta, peanut butter, diapers, shampoo and toothpaste. Place food items in the grocery carts in the Narthex along with register tapes. To donate money please use the large envelope attached to the cart for cash, or checks made payable to Overbrook Church. All donations are appreciated.

 

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION COMMITTEE NEEDS YOUR INPUT. If you were unable to attend the meeting this morning, we would still like to know what your family thinks about the recently implemented rotation Sunday School Program for elementary aged children and what you would like to see in the future. Please see either Amy Christie or any member of the Christian Education Committee.

 

FOURTH NIGHT TAIZE SERVICE TONIGHT. “It relieves my stress.” “It gives me such peace.” “I feel like a weight has been lifted from me.” “I’m a busy mother and it revitalizes me for the week ahead.” These are comments from people who attend the 4th Night Taize Service. Why not come next week and see for yourself? Led by Rev. Jon Siehl who is also a cantor. Rev. Linda McClanahan leads the Horizons Bible Study and the Faith & Fiction group will discuss the book “March” by Geraldine Brooks.                           .

 

INQUIRERS’ COURSE BEGINS TODAY. If you are interested in learning more about being a Presbyterian or would like to join our church family, meet in the Library at 9:00 a.m. for the next three Sundays. Session will meet with prospective members on April 9 prior to the worship service. If you are not able to attend all of the classes, come to as many as you can. Please let the church office know if you plan to attend.

 

THE CHANCEL CHOIR SINGS SCHUBERT’S MASS IN G. Join us next Sunday as the choir sings the entire service in Latin. They will be accompanied by strings. This would be a great opportunity to bring a friend and to listen to the wonderful music program we have here at Overbrook.

 

DON’T FORGET!! DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS NEXT SUNDAY. Remember to set your clocks forward one hour on Saturday Night. We wouldn’t want you

to get here too early for the music.

 

OVERBROOK WOMEN’S CIRCLES are responsible for preparing the Trinity Lunches next Sunday. Meet downstairs in the kitchen following the service to bag cookies, chips and make sandwiches.

 

MID & SENIOR HIGH YOUTH AND THEIR PARENTS meet at 5:45 p.m. next Sunday for a light dinner with the Christian Education Committee followed by discussion of  the Mid & Sr. High Sunday School and Youth Fellowship Programs. Children and Youth are a vital part of the growth of this church and your input is very important.

 

SAVE THE LAST DANCE! On April 8 the New Generation Fellowship Group meets at the church at 5:00 p.m. for a potluck supper. After supper the adults will remain in Fellowship Hall for some beginning ballroom dance lessons with instruction by members of Overbrook who are advanced ballroom dancers. Children will go to another area in the church for movies and/or dancing of their own.

 

HELP BEAUTIFY THE SANCTUARY FOR EASTER. Orders are now being taken for Easter Lilies or Spring Flowers. The sign-up sheet is on the table in the Narthex. New this year, you have a choice of ordering Easter lilies or a mixed variety of spring flowers.  The price remains at $6.50 each and can be purchased in honor or memory of someone special or loved ones. Plants can be taken from the Sanctuary following the 10:30 a.m. April 16, Easter Service.
