CHILDREN’S BULLETINS are available for ages 3-6 and 7-12.  They contain fun, age- appropriate activities related to today’s worship.  The bulletins, along with pencils or crayons, can be found on the table in the Narthex, or by asking an usher for assistance.

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

F.O.O.D. SUNDAY donations last week designated for NNEMAP totaled $410.00 in cash and food. This is a terrific response to the needs of our fellow neighbors in need.

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS TODAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 12:00 noon.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY AND YOUTH SUNDAY! Take a moment to say thank you to the mothers of our children and youth choirs for taking time out of their busy schedules to sing with their children today. We also thank all of the youth who took part in leading the service today. We are blessed with some very talented children and youth.

ROSE LUNCHEON TICKETS GO ON SALE TODAY! The luncheon will be Thursday, June 1, 2006 beginning at 12:00 noon in Fellowship Hall. The tickets this year are $7.00 each and can be purchased at the table in the Narthex for the next three weeks. This is always a fun event so bring a friend.

THE STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM SOCIAL is scheduled for June 4 in Fellowship Hall immediately following the worship service. The usual fare of sloppy joes, baked beans, chips, relish tray, drinks, and don’t forget, cake, strawberries and ice cream. The sign-up sheet for cakes is in the church office.

ALL ABOUT US. The Membership Committee has had new brochures printed telling all about who, what, where and when we are. You can find them in the information rack in the Narthex. Give the brochure to a neighbor, coworker or other acquaintance who might be interested in learning about Overbrook –and invite them to join you at church on Sunday!

IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME COMING … NANCY DEETH AT THE PIANO ON CD!

Marilyn Rodgers years ago wanted Nancy to record a CD. Marilyn’s commitment to her idea brings Overbrook a disc of piano pieces we have heard Nancy play. Nancy and Marilyn are generously designating “donation” proceeds to establish a fund to allow continuing renovation of the pipe organ from time to time. We hope donors will make a benchmark contribution of $15.00 for each disc. Discs will be available in the Narthex today.

HELP SUPPORT OUR YOUTH FELLOWSHIP GROUPS. You may purchase “Stock Shares” in our Mission Trip to Michigan at the table in the Narthex after the service today.

WE SERVE THE YWCA FAMILY CENTER TODAY. Overbrook is responsible for the second Sunday of each month to prepare the dinner meal, serve it and provide fellowship for the homeless families of Columbus. Volunteers usually prepare stew at 2:00 p.m.; transport the meal at 5:00 p.m.; serve from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and return to Overbrook by 8:00 p.m. This is a very rewarding experience.

SARAH CIRCLE meets on Tuesday, May 16 at 9:30 a.m. We will study Lesson #8.

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets Wednesday, May 17, at 7:30 a.m. at Scottie MacBean in Clintonville. All men are welcome.

DO YOU HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD? Please take time to read the poster in the Narthex about having a personal relationship with God. It is the awesome privilege that we have since Jesus died for us on the cross. It also suggests some books to read to enhance that relationship. Please give Sandy Powell any suggestions of books that you have found especially helpful to you. We can list those to share with the congregation.

MANY THANKS! Next Sunday, May 21, there will be a reception in the Narthex following worship, to honor and thank Sandy and Warren Powell for their many years of service to Overbrook. Sandy has resigned as Adult Christian Education Director, effective June 1, 2006. Please join the Overbrook family at the reception to express your appreciation to Sandy and Warren for all their service to Overbrook.

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, will meet next Sunday, May 21 in the South Parlor for a potluck luncheon immediately following the worship service.

A BIBLE STUDY IS A’COMIN. The next Bible study offered is a three week class on the book of Jonah. It begins on Sunday, May 28 through June 11. The class is led by Reverend Leety from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the South Parlor.
