NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, meets today in the South Parlor immediately following the worship service, for a potluck luncheon. Even though you may have forgotten to prepare a dish, you are welcome to attend.

 

THE NEW GENERATIONS FELLOWSHIP GROUP has been asked to decorate the Chrismon Tree this year. We will do this today immediately following the worship service. A light lunch will be served in Room 101.

 

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP meets today immediately following the worship service to do some drive by raking.

 

THE LISTENING ELDER FOR NOVEMBER will be available for listening in the Narthex after the worship service today. Feel welcome to convey to him any matter in our congregation’s life that you would like to have passed on to the Session.

 

THE 2007 FLOWER CHART HAS ARRIVED. It is not too early to think about hosting flowers for next year, especially if you have a particular date in mind. The chart is posted in the church office.

 

COME JOIN US! You are cordially invited to join the Chancel and Westminster Choirs for the Festival of Carols, Lessons  & Poetry. Come at 8:15 p.m. each Thursday night for rehearsals beginning November 9 and continuing through December 14. Come, sing and rejoice! SARAH CIRCLE meets Tuesday, November 21 at 9:30 a.m. in the Parlor. Please attend to help complete plans for our part in the Poinsettia Luncheon.

 

JUST A REMINDER: With the holiday season coming up, what better hostess gift or Christmas gift than a Nancy CD. Available in the church office for a donation of $15.00. All proceeds go to the organ renovation fund.

 

HELPING HANDS NEEDED NOVEMBER 21 AND DECEMBER 22. The Mid Ohio Workers organization will be at Overbrook from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 21 and December 22 to pack holiday food boxes for local families. If you have an hour or two to give on those days, please come to the church to help out. Many helping hands are needed to assist with this worthwhile project.

 

ATTENTION MICHIGAN MISSION TRIP SHAREHOLDERS. Come to the shareholders meeting on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. We will show slides from our trip to Camp Westminster on Higgin’s Lake, Michigan. You will hear from actual participants of the trip. There will be refreshments and a time for questions and answers. All are welcome.

 

NOVEMBER IS NATIONAL HOSPICE AWARENESS MONTH. Hospice is there to provide compassionate care and support for terminally ill patients as well as their families. If you have any questions about Hospice, please don’t hesitate to stop by and talk to Lori or call her at Zusman Community Hospice at 559-0319.

THE GREETER SCHEDULE FOR 2007 IS BEING COMPILED. We could use a few friendly men and women, old hands or new faces to welcome worshipers on Sundays. At the most you would only be assigned two weeks throughout the entire year. If you are interested in being a greeter, please indicate on the friendship pad or leave a note in the office.

 

DEACONS AND ELDERS TO SERVE HOME COMMUNION. Following the worship service on December 3, First Sunday of Advent, home communion will be served to our home-bound members. If you know of someone who would like communion, let the office know so that we can set up an appointment time.

 

POINSETTIA LUNCHEON this year is on Thursday, December 7, at 12:00 noon in Fellowship Hall. The program includes the Legend of the Poinsettia by Marilyn, Christmas music by Nancy Deeth, followed by a Carol Sing-a-Long. The tickets are $7.00 and will be on sale in the Narthex on November 19 & 26 and December 3.
