OUR MISSION DOLLARS AT WORK! One mission project Overbrook has supported is Faith Mission, East Long Street downtown. We recently received a note of thanks.  Faith Mission provides shelter, medical attention, business education, computer training, spiritual guidance, nutritious meals, and counseling to people without homes.  Last year Faith Mission provided 102,344 nights of shelter, served 273,486 meals.  A total population of 8703 received help.  Keep up the good work.

ARE YOU GETTING A FLU SHOT? Please do! Each year 110,000 people in the U.S. are hospitalized with influenza complications. Children 6-23 months and adults age 50 and over should receive an immunization. The best time to get a flu shot is Oct. – Dec. Kroger has an ample supply of vaccine this year. You may want to check your nearest Kroger store for times. They are taking you by appointment only to avoid waiting in long lines. Flu Shot Hot Line 614-437-2900 or www.vaccine4me.com. Questions call Sue Mooney 268-7207.

There is a collection box in the Narthex for donations.

HAVE YOU LOST A LOVED ONE? Overbrook members who have experienced a death of a family member or friend are invited to think about “First Thanksgiving and Christmas” since the death of a loved one. We’ll meet in the Parlor at 7:00 p.m. on November 13, to remember our losses, plan for holidays and hear from others engaged in this same chore.

DEACONS LOOKING FOR COOKS AND DRIVERS! Several members of our church family have needed meals during the past few months. The Deacons are looking for additional volunteers to prepare a meal for others. The need may be an illness or a serious stressful family situation that merits the comfort of care. Other times members of our congregation who are no longer comfortable driving, need a ride to an appointment. If you are able to prepare an occasional meal or provide transportation, please call Joyce at 457-5890 or Judith at 885-0960.

HATE COMMITTEE MEETINGS?  WE CAN REALLY USE YOUR HELP! With no church staff dedicated to computer hardware, software, networking or webmaster activities, we are at times looking for people to provide assistance.  We are currently trying to identify people with those talents.  If you are willing to be contacted about helping, please sign up on the sheet in the office, or call 261-1040 to be added to the list.
