WELCOME, ANNOUNCEMENTS

*CALL TO WORSHIP                                                                                                           wrl

We come to God, grateful and desperate;

    Hearing God’s call, and eager for a confirming or comforting sign.

We come knowing God, yet sensing God remote or afar sometimes;

    Seeking Jesus’ touch of healing or life.

We come wanting a taste of life, the fullness of eternity;

    Food for our days, and past our years.

We come to God knowing we are welcome—

    by God’s people, the church,

        by Christ our saver,

          by the Spirit who gives breath,

               and the God whose love leaves us breathless.

*HYMN # 562                                                                              Eternal Father, Strong to Save

*PSALM 130 (NRSV)

Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord.  Lord, hear my voice!

Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

            If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, Lord, who could stand?

But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.

            I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope;

My soul waits for the Lord more than those who watch for the morning,

      more than those who watch for the morning.

O Israel, hope in the Lord! For with the Lord there is steadfast love,

and with him is great power to redeem.

     It is God who will redeem Israel from all its iniquities.

*THE PEACE

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

               Peace be with you.
