WELCOME, ANNOUNCEMENTS
*CALL TO WORSHIP
The LORD is with us wherever we go,
together may we know of God’s presence
with us here.
The LORD created all of life
and would not abandon us on the journey.
We
have known the steadfast love of God
both when we are faithful and when we
stray.
God has made covenant with us.
The LORD is our rock and our salvation.
*LIGHTING THE CHRIST CANDLE
*HYMN # 145
Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart
*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE
We confess, O God,
our tendency to insist on our own way.
Too often our prayer is for our own
needs and schemes,
and our desire is that you would ease
the way for us. Forgive
our unwillingness to listen when your
word comes to us through
parents, children, friends, and humble
messengers. Open our
ears and help us discern when you are
speaking, and when the
popular advice around us is not your
will and purpose.
(time for silent, personal
confession) Amen.
*THE PEACE
The
peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you.
(worshipers greet one another with words
and gestures of the peace of Christ)
