*CALL TO WORSHIP                                                                                 from Psalm 19: 1-4

The heavens are telling the glory of God;

    the firmament proclaims God’s handiwork.

There is no voice, there are no words,

yet their voice goes out through all the earth-

words of great praise to the end of the world.

*PROCESSIONAL HYMN # 285                                 God, You Spin the Whirling Planets

*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE                                                          Call to Worship, 39:1

Righteous One, how we need to know your forgiveness!

Our lives fall short of your will for us.

We break your holy law, or fulfill its letter but violate its spirit of divine love.

Our sin skews our living out of kilter, distorting our values,

perverting our justice, and deceiving us with lies dressed up as truth.

We need your mercy and your power, O God.

Cleanse our hearts of every fault and refresh us with your Holy Spirit,

that our lives may please you with true obedience and loving service.

(time for silent, personal confession to God)  Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE

The proof of God’s amazing love is this:

while we were still sinning God sent his son to rescue us.

Praise God that in Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

*THE PEACE

The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

     Peace be with you.
