*CALL TO WORSHIP                                                                                from Psalm 22: 25-27

From you comes my praise in the great congregation;

   My vows I will pay before those who fear him.

The poor shall eat and be satisfied;

   Those who seek him shall praise the LORD.

May your hearts live forever!

   All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the LORD;

and all the families of the nations shall worship before him.

*PROCESSIONAL HYMN # 272                                                               God of the Sparrow

*PRAYER OF CONFESSION                                                                  from Seasons of the Spirit

God, you call us to love one another. You call us to welcome all people into the family of your people. You teach us that everyone who loves is born of you and knows you. You sent your own child into the world and offer us your spirit, not for judgment, but for salvation and new life. Yet often, we use your teachings to exclude others.

Forgive us, loving God. Teach us to love as you love. Open our minds and our hearts to accept all your people as our brothers and sisters, as your beloved children. We pray in Christ’s name. Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE                                                    from Seasons of the Spirit

In the scriptures we read this definition of love: that God sent Christ Jesus

 into the world solely out of love for us, and it is through Christ that we are

saved. God loves us. God takes the initiative for our salvation.

Thanks be to God!

*THE PEACE

            The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

               Peace be with you.
