*CALL TO WORSHIP                                                                                     Chalice Worship

In the image of Christ we are created;

In the spirit of Christ we are knit together.

In the body of Christ we are reborn;

In the love of Christ we are reconciled.

O come, let us sing Hosanna to God-

Whose fullness in Christ was pleased to dwell,

   whose fullness in us desires to live!

*HYMN # 551                                                                      Come, Ye Thankful People, Come

*CONFESSION OF WHOSE WE ARE (Unison)                                           Chalice Worship

God, your Son Jesus Christ has taught us that power belongs to you.

          You have shared your power with us.

Yet, we confess we have not accepted the power you have given us.

We have allowed others to use power to dominate people and nations,

          exploiting them, creating wars, and accumulating wealth.

Today, you offer us your power,

so that we can change the world, announce your kingdom,

          and acknowledge you, the source of all power.

For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever…

(Silent Confession)  Amen.

*THE PEACE

Since God has forgiven us in Christ, let us forgive one another.

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Peace be with you. (worshipers share words and gestures of peace)
