FOR YOUR INFORMATION

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

CHRISTMAS JOY OFFERING. Presbyterians have long celebrated the birth of Jesus Christ by giving generously to an Advent offering. The Christmas Joy Offering dates back to the1930’s when the PCUS began an offering to supplement inadequate retirement income and provide supplemental medical insurance for former ministers, missionaries, church workers, and their families. In the late 1940’s that became the Joy Gift. In 1989 the offering was renamed the Christmas Joy Offering, and in 1991 the 203rd General Assembly changed the distribution of funds to 50 percent to the Board of Pensions and 50 percent to the Presbyterian racial ethnic schools and colleges.

WESTMINSTER CHOIR rehearses for 15 minutes today immediately following worship, saving a trip to church later in the day.

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP meets in the Narthex following the Westminster Choir rehearsal to go to lunch and bowling. Adults may be needed for transportation.

NO 4TH NIGHT ACTIVITIES TONIGHT. The Faith & Fiction group will gather the beginning of January for brunch and discussion on the book Grace Eventually: Thoughts on Faith by Anne Lamott.

ARE YOU IN NEED OF A LAST MINUTE CHRISTMAS GIFT? We still have CD’s available by Nancy Deeth and Elmer Fischer. Nancy by Request sells for $15.00 each with proceeds going into the Organ Renovation Fund and See You Later sells for $12.00 and proceeds benefit the Youth/Adult Mission Trip.

2007 PLEDGES -  Finance Committee reminds everyone that contributions for 2007 must be in the church office by Monday 12/31 to qualify as tax deductions for 2007.

THE MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP will not meet this Wednesday, December 26th but will resume on January 9, 2008 at Tee Jaye’s at Morse & High. All men are welcome.

ARE YOU COLLEGE AGE OR CLOSE? Please join us on Thursday, December 27 for Dinner & Zoo Lights. Friends welcome! Call Bob at 267-8461 or Deb at 309-0417 for details.

ANNUAL REPORTS for all committees are due in the office by December 31, 2007. Drop off or send via e-mail.

WE PREPARE TRINITY LUNCHES the next two Sundays. The Hidden Generation is responsible for December 30th and The New Generation is responsible for January 6th. Both fellowship groups are small and appreciate others’ help. If you’ll help, meet in the downstairs kitchen following worship to make sandwiches, bag cookies and pack sacks.

NO SUNDAY SCHOOL ON DECEMBER 30 FOR PRESCHOOL – GRADE 7!

THE 2008 FLOWER CHART for people who want to contribute Sunday flowers is in the office.  Dates are taken first-come, first-served.

GREETER SCHEDULE FOR 2008 IS BEING COMPILED.  We need a few friendly men and women, old hands and new faces, to welcome Sunday morning worshipers. Greeters are assigned 2 Sundays of the year.  If you’re interested either in greeting or in removing your name from the list, note it on the friendship pad or call the office.
