2007 OFFERING ENVELOPES are in the Narthex for donors who indicated they wanted them.  Pick yours up after worship.

 

TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions are for Community Resources Center.  They request peanut butter, tuna, paper towels, tissues, toilet paper, diapers, formula, baby food and canned protein drinks like Ensure. Place contributions in the grocery carts in the Narthex.

 

OUR ADULT FORUM began the New Year today with a three-week series on 

“Because We Love God and the Book… …Trying to Figure Out What the Bible Says.” Cheryl Hubbard, PhD. led the first week; Rev. Leety will speak on January 14 and Rev. Siehl ends the series on January 21.  Won’t you join us?

 

BAPTISM OF THE LORD COMMUNION TODAY   Loose offering today, as on all Communion Sundays contributes to the work of Deacons in their continuing care in support of the congregation.

 

YOUTH TO HAVE AN EPIPHANY PARTY  Join us tonight at 5:45 p.m. for dinner/party and to learn from Harkness Connell about the 2007 Presbyterian Youth Triennium to be held this summer. 

 

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets this Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at 7:30 a.m. The new meeting place is the Bear Rock Café at Graceland. All men are welcome.

 

PHOEBE CIRCLE meets Thursday, January 11 at 9:30 a.m. The program is Lesson 25   from the study series “That the World May Know.”

 

INQUIRERS’ CLASS BEING OFFERED  Anyone interested in learning more about being Presbyterian or joining Overbrook Church is invited to attend. Classes begin January 14 for four consecutive Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in the Library. The class will meet with Session at the last meeting, and be received into the congregation during the 10:30 worship service on February 4, 2007. If you wish to attend, please notify the church office.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS in Bill Leety’s office next Sunday from 10:00 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 12:00 noon.

 

OVERBROOKERS SERVE DINNER AT THE YWCA FAMILY CENTER NEXT SUNDAY  Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board across from the Parlor. Youth Fellowship Group, who will help serve the meal this month, gather at the church at 5 p.m. to deliver the meal.  Volunteers begin making stew at 2 p.m.; serve from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and return to Overbrook by 7:30 p.m.

 

JUST A REMINDER:  the church building is closed Monday, January 15, 2007 in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
