SUMMER WORSHIP SCHEDULE begins July 1 and lasts through the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, September 2. There will be one service of worship at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Chapel Class set their meeting time for 8:30 a.m. The summer bible study of Exodus being led by Cheryl Hubbard will begin at 10:45, giving time to have coffee or cold water between worship and class. This class continues until mid August except for July 29.

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

 

TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions go to Neighborhood Services. They request the following: cereal, canned meats, hamburger and tuna helper, spaghetti sauce and personal hygiene items. Place food items in the grocery carts in the Narthex along with register tapes. To donate money please use the large envelope attached to the cart for cash, or checks made payable to Overbrook Church. All donations are appreciated.

 

TODAY WE PREPARE TRINITY LUNCHES. The New Beginnings Fellowship Group is responsible for making the sandwiches, bagging cookies and packing sacks this month. Meet in the kitchen following the worship service.

 

STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM SOCIAL IS TODAY following the worship service in Fellowship Hall. We have the usual picnic fare of sloppy joes, baked beans, chips, relish tray and, of course, strawberries, ice cream and cake!

 

THE ROSE LUNCHEON, sponsored by the Women of Overbrook, is this Thursday, June 7th at 12:00 Noon. Johnny Steiner will perform ‘S Wonderful. Tickets are on sale in the Narthex today. Tickets cost $7. Hope to see you there.

 

LAST CHANCE to support our youth by purchasing stock shares in the 2007 Youth/Adult Mission Trip to Pittsburgh. The workers will be commissioned during worship on June 10. They leave for Pittsburgh following worship to work with Hosanna Industries. Stock shares are available in the Narthex for $5 each.

 

WE RECOGNIZE OUR 2007 GRADUATES on June 10 during the worship service. We would like graduates to be present if possible and for them to sit in the pews reserved for them. We have gifts to share.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING in Bill Leety’s office next Sunday, June 10 from 10:00-10:30 a.m. and 11:30-12:00 noon.

 

NEXT SUNDAY WE SERVE THE YWCA FAMILY CENTER. Overbrook prepares and serves the dinner meal for homeless families of Columbus. Sign-up sheets are next to the bulletin board across from the Parlor.

WOMEN’S CIRCLES TAKE THE SUMMER OFF. Martha, Phoebe and Sarah Circle will not meet June – August. See you next Fall.

 

IT’S NOT TOO LATE! We are still accepting registrations for Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme “Great Bible Reef” is just the place for cool crafts, fun songs, zany games, and a school of friends. This exciting opportunity for children ages 3 through 12 is June 18-22, 6:00-8:15 p.m. Take a couple forms to your neighborhood friends.

 

MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S MOVIES coming to the Overbrook Church near you beginning Thursday, June 14. There will be popcorn and lemonade, cartoons for the kids and a main feature. See insert for further details.

 

SUMMER BIBLE STUDY OFFERED! Please join us Sunday, June 17 & 24 at 9:15 a.m. for our summer Bible study of Exodus. Then on July 1 the time changes to 10:45 a.m.

Dr. Cheryl Hubbard will guide us as we travel through time to learn from the great journey that recounts how God formed the relationship with our Hebrew ancestors that is the foundation of our faith even today.
