DON’T FORGET TO SPRING FORWARD!
WEDNESDAY EVENING LENT SERIES CONTINUES. This
Wednesday, March 7, we worship in the Chapel beginning at 6 p.m. The focus of the services are the Great Ends
of the Church, part of the Preliminary Principles of our Church; this week,
“maintenance of divine worship.”
The great ends of the church are the proclamation of
the gospel for the salvation of humankind; the shelter, nurture, and spiritual
fellowship of the children of God; the maintenance of divine worship; the
preservation of the truth; the promotion of social righteousness; and the exhibition
of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
Wednesday, we take up
“shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship.”
After a soup supper—bring a simple dish of “finger food” to share—we
meet in the Parlor from 7:15 to 8:15 to hear James Wilson, Stated Clerk of our
Presbytery, continue probing the historic roots of Presbyterian Christians,
taking a close look at the Scots Confession written by John Knox.
ADULT FORUM FOR MARCH 11 AND 18 will be presented by June Hinkle of our Wellness Committee who will present Advanced
Health Care Planning. Topics covered include DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) orders,
Healthcare Power of Attorney and Living Wills.
TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions go to Neighborhood
Services. They request the following items: canned soups, vegetables, beef
stew, flour and dry beans. Place food items in the grocery carts in the Narthex

DINNER GROUPS NOW FORMING. With the New Year comes a new opportunity to join a
dinner group! Dinner groups consist of
six to nine individuals who get together to share meals and fun. Typically the
groups will meet three or four times during the year, taking turns as
host. Most dinner groups operate as a
potluck, but each group makes it own plan.
This year at least one group will dine out exclusively. Sign up for dinner groups by contacting the
office.
