FOR YOUR INFORMATION

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS TODAY in Bill Leety’s office from 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. & 11:30 – 12:00 noon.

TODAY WE SERVE THE YWCA FAMILY CENTER. Overbrook prepares and serves the dinner meal for homeless families of Columbus. Check the sign-up sheets next to the bulletin board across from the Parlor for any items still needed.

THE PRESCHOOL OPEN HOUSE & ART SHOW was very well attended and everyone was impressed with the magician. The silent auction raised over $2000 for the preschool art program. The Preschool appreciates your support.

NO YOUTH FELLOWSHIP TONIGHT. The Youth led the worship service today so there will be no meeting. Next Sunday at 5:45 p.m. we continue the series “Faith on Fire: Responsibility” What does scripture say about our responsibility toward each other?

THE CENTRAL OHIO BLOOD SERVICES REGION must collect 650 pints of blood every day to meet the needs of Central Ohio hospitals. The American Red Cross will be here tomorrow, May 14, from 12:00 – 6:00 p.m. We need volunteers to register donors and to work the canteen and Red Cross needs donors. Sign up in the office or call Sue Mooney 268-7207.

SARAH CIRCLE meets this Tuesday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m. in the Parlor.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE has rescheduled their meeting for Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. in the Conference Room.

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets this Wednesday, May 16, at 7:30 a.m. at Tee Jay’s at Morse & High Sts. All men are welcome.

LISTENING ELDER FOR MAY will be available for listening in the Narthex after the worship service next Sunday. Feel welcome to convey to her any matter in our congregation’s life that you would like to have passed on to the Session.

NAME TAG DAY! On May 20th Overbrook will hopefully receive a class of new members into our congregation during the worship service. May 20th will also be our first “Name Tag Day”. While many members may prefer not to wear a name tag, please make a special effort to find your name tag and wear it this special Sunday as a courtesy to our new members. The Membership Committee has been working hard on an attractive storage unit for the name tags, and will be making “clip-on” tags available in addition to the current “pin-on” tags.

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles will meet next Sunday, May 20, in the South Parlor for a potluck luncheon immediately following the worship service.

OUR SEDER MEAL IS NEXT SUNDAY AT 5:30 P.M.! You can still join us by signing up at the table in the Narthex, or calling the church office before Wednesday afternoon. Many groups within the congregation are helping to make this a very special event! Remember, even small children are welcomed at this meal where we celebrate God’s love of God’s people. The Seder is based on the ancient rituals preserved in Exodus in which Israelites celebrated how God delivered them from slavery in Egypt. We celebrate Seder in part to remember that Jesus came to earth to deliver us from even modern day forms of slavery.

CAFÉ MOZART TO HOST CRC FUNDRAISER! The owners of Café Mozart, Anand and Doris Saha, will be hosting their tenth annual fundraiser for the Clintonville Beechwold Community Resources Center. This year’s event will be held Monday evening, May 21st from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the 4490 Indianola Avenue location. There will be a buffet dinner, fine wine, coffees and desserts. A trio headed up by Paul Love will provide live music. Prices for the event are quite reasonable, being $45 for an individual and $80 for a couple. Community residents who want to make a big difference with their donation are invited to become event sponsors at the $250 level (good for two admissions). Although donations can be accepted at the door, CRC asks interested attendees to please call 614-268-3539 (9-5) in advance to reserve your place.

ARE YOU GRADUATING? If so, or there is someone you know that is graduating, we would like to know. The sign-up sheet is in the church office and we recognize graduates on June 10, 2007 during the worship service.
