FOR YOUR INFORMATION

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation, she will be available in the Narthex after worship to hear your concerns.

THE FLOWERS IN THE SERVICE TODAY are an anonymous gift in thanksgiving for all that God has created.

LISTENING ELDER FOR MAY will be available for listening in the Narthex after the worship service today. Feel welcome to convey to her any matter in our congregation’s life that you would like to have passed on to the Session.

FOR THE BELLS TOLL!  Today is the final time the Chancel Chimes will play this season. Thank you for all your dedication and hard work. “Blessings” to all of you!

TODAY IS NAME TAG DAY! If you are reading this announcement before worship, and not wearing your name tag, put it on.  When we receive new members in the course of the year, Membership Committee asks us to be diligent in wearing name tags, to help the whole congregation, but especially for new members, to match faces and names.  Membership Committee has been working on an attractive storage unit for tags, and will make “clip-ons” available in addition to current “pin-on” tags.

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, meets today in the South Parlor for a potluck luncheon immediately following the worship service. Even though you may have forgotten to prepare a dish, you’re invited to attend.

SEDER MEAL TONIGHT AT 5:30 P.M.!  The meal is free, but a free-will offering with a suggested donation amount will be taken.  Passover dishes from traditional recipes are being prepared by some diners.  Looks to be an exciting evening.

NO YOUTH FELLOWSHIP TONIGHT  as youth are helping serve the Seder Meal tonight.  Next Sunday, Memorial Day weekend—no evening meeting again.

THE SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION is celebrated on Pentecost Sunday, May 27.  The Pentecost Offering for children, youth, and young adults at risk will be received.  This year’s offering theme, “That very Spirit!” from Romans 8:16, highlights how the Spirit of God persistently reminds us that we are all children of God. Your gifts to the Pentecost Offering work actively to bring God’s blessings to our brothers and sisters in need.  As on all Communion Sundays, loose offering is designated for the work of Overbrook Board of Deacons.

4TH NIGHT ACTIVITIES for May 27, 2007 will be held in spite of the holiday weekend. The Taize Worship begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by Bible Study at 7:00 p.m. and the Faith & Fiction Group is reading “Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert.

THE ROSE LUNCHEON, sponsored by the Women of Overbrook, is Thursday, June 7, at 12:00 Noon. Johnny Steiner performs “’S Wonderful.”  Tickets will be on sale in the Narthex on May 27th and June 3rd ($7).  Join us!

IT’S TIME AGAIN!  For Strawberry Ice Cream Social, we gather in Fellowship Hall on Sunday, June 3, at 12:00 noon. For the usual picnic fare—sloppy joes, baked beans, chips, relish tray and, of course, strawberries, ice cream and cake!  We need donations of cakes—sign-up on the sheet in the office to let us know you’ll bake.
