POPCORN SALE FOR CUB PACK 74 continues in the Narthex for the next 2 Sundays. Nikki Novak will be at the table from 9:00 – 11:30 a.m. They have a lot of items to offer and they make great gifts. Please support the scouting programs.

 

THE MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets at 7:30 a.m. this Wednesday, November 14 at Tee Jaye’s at Morse & High. All men are welcome.

 

MARTHA CIRCLE meets this Wednesday, November 14th at 9:30 a.m. in the Parlor. Mary Hubbard will tell us interesting facts about hymns and writers of hymns. We welcome new members ~ come visit us!

 

CARE PACKAGE CONTRIBUTIONS WELCOME! Youth Fellowship packs care packages to college students November 18, just in time for final exams. We would like to send snacks (cookies, popcorn and nuts), fun things (squishy stress balls, funny colored pens, decks of cards), highlighters and post-it note tabs. There is a collection box in the Narthex. Parents, do we have your college student’s current address? Addresses can be e-mailed to the office at lellett@overbrookchurch.org.

 

IT’S NOT TOO LATE!  The Chancel Choir invites those 18 and older to join them for “Lessons, Carols and Poetry” on Sunday afternoon December 16, 2007. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 8:15-9:00 p.m., November 15, 29 and December 6, 13 and then on Saturday December 15 with the instrumentalists. If you have wanted to be a part of the choir, come give it a try!  If you have any questions, contact Sarah Shaffer.

 

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP SELLING CHRISTMAS WREATHS. Wreaths sell for $18.00 and are approximately 20 inches in diameter and come with a red bow and three pine cones. They will be ready for pickup the Sunday after Thanksgiving.  Place your orders today and next Sunday in the Narthex. Proceeds go towards the 2008 Mission trip and other youth activities.

 

HAVE YOU HAD A DEATH IN THE FAMILY?  Overbrook members who have experienced a death of a family member or friend are invited to think about “First Thanksgiving and Christmas” since the death of a loved one. We’ll meet in the Parlor at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14, to remember our losses, plan for holidays and hear from others engaged in this same chore.

 

FALL CLEAN UP DAY this year is scheduled for November 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Rake leaves, clean flower beds, prune bushes.  Bring tools and gloves.  We’ll let you leave in time for kickoff!

 

NEW BEGINNINGS, a group for all singles, meets next Sunday, November 18th in the South Parlor for a potluck luncheon immediately following the worship service.

 

ANNUAL POINSETTIA LUNCHEON All “WOMEN OF OVERBROOK” and their guests are invited to the ANNUAL POINSETTIA LUNCHEON on WEDNESDAY December 5th in Fellowship Hall. Lunch will be served at 12 noon followed by a special presentation of music featuring the COLUMBUS DAMENCHOR at 1:00 p.m. in the Parlor. Tickets ($7.00) will be available in the Narthex beginning Sundays, November 18, 25 and December 2.This event is made possible by the Women of Overbrook Coordinating Team and the circle members.

 

NINTH ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE. The Deacons of Networks 11 & 13 are hosting a gathering on Sunday, November 18th in the Living Room at The Forum from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Look for your invitation in the mail. The entertainment this year is the Clintonville Mothersingers. Hope you can join us.

 

THE FAITH & FICTION BOOK GROUP will not meet during the 4th Night Activities but on Wednesday, November 28, 7 p.m. in the Library.
