CHIMES, WELCOME & ANNOUNCEMENTS
*CALL TO WORSHIP
from Psalm 118
The Lord is our strength and our song and has become our
salvation.
Exultation
and victory resound among God’s people.
The right hand of the Lord has triumphed! The right hand of the Lord is exalted!
We shall not die, but live, and declare
God’s mighty deeds.
*PROCESSIONAL HYMN Christ
the Lord Is Risen Today (See
Insert) D. Wagner
*LIGHTING THE CHRIST CANDLE
*AN EASTER CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE Call to
Worship God of
power and might, we stand before the empty tomb with awe,
pondering
a love that is stronger even than death.
Can that love save us?
Can it forgive our sins and heal our hearts?
Can
it really be so?
It’s
a day of new beginnings,
so
we pray that, by your Spirit, we might start afresh.
We pray in the name of Jesus, who is raised from the dead,
defeating sin, once and for all, for all and even for us.
(time for silent, personal
confession) Amen.
*WORDS OF ASSURANCE
While it is true that we have sinned, it is a greater
truth that we are forgiven
through God’s love in Jesus Christ.
Thanks
be to God.
*THE PEACE
May the peace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you. (worshipers exchange words and gestures of peace)
