WELCOME, REGISTRATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

*CALL TO WORSHIP                                                                            Isaiah 52:7-9 (NRSV)

            How beautiful upon the mountains

are the feet of the messenger who announces peace;

    Who brings good news, who announces salvation,

    who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”

Listen!  Your sentinels lift up their voices, together they sing for joy;

for in plain sight they see the return of the Lord to Zion.

    Break forth together into singing, you ruins of Jerusalem;

    For the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem.

*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE                                                                                     wrl

            Lord,

your Word is our joy,

     our regret or guilt and our forgiveness,

our command and corrective,

     our peace and burden and life.

            Forgive our casual ways with your call and failures of nerve;

our neglect of your kingdom and distance from your Son.

(time for silent, personal confession)  Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE & THE PEACE

Anyone in Christ becomes a new person altogether;

                The past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new.

            Friends, believe the good news of the gospel:

                In Jesus Christ we are forgiven.

The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

                Peace be with you.

(worshipers exchange words and gestures of peace)
