*CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 8 (NRSV)
O Lord, our God, how majestic is your name in
all the earth.
You have set your glory above the heavens.
Out of the mouths of babes and infants
you have founded a bulwark because of your foes,
to silence the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens, the
work of your fingers,
the moon and stars that you
have established;
what are human beings that you
are mindful of them,
mortals
that you care for them?
Yet you have made them a little lower than God,
and crowned them with glory
and honor.
You have given them dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under their feet, all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field, the birds
of the air, the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the
seas.
O
Lord, our God, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
*PROCESSIONAL HYMN # 138 Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!
CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE Touch
Holiness
God
has always been there for us, loving us and calling us to be all that we can
be.
Let
us tell God about ourselves, not leaving anything out.
Ever-loving, ever-living God, you have
given us life itself and have asked us to be life giving people in your name.
But we have cared more about ourselves and our comfort than we have about your
people in every place. We leave people out of our thoughts and prayers, because
our minds and hearts are too crowded with all the things that make us feel
self-satisfied. The world aches for peace, while we proclaim power to be more
important. People on our streets go hungry because we make sure we are full
before even thinking about them. God, give us the purpose that you gave to
people in Jesus’ time: to be faithful disciples in your care. Through Christ we
pray. Amen
(silent, personal confession) Amen.
ASSURANCE
Anyone
who is in Christ is a new creation.
The
old life has gone; a new life has begun.
Know
that you are forgiven and be at peace.
*THE PEACE
May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you
all.
Peace be with you. (worshipers share words and gestures of peace)

*CHARGE Proverbs 8: 32-36 The Message
So, my dear friends, listen carefully;
those who embrace Wisdom’s ways are
most blessed. Mark a life of discipline
and live wisely; don’t squander your precious life.
Blessed
the man, blessed the woman who listens to me, awake and ready for
me each
morning, alert and responsive as I start my day’s work. When you find me,
you find
life, real life, to say nothing of God’s good pleasure. But if you wrong me,
you
damage your very soul; when you reject me, you are flirting with death.
