*CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 104                                                                    Call to Worship

How many and great are your works, O Lord!

In wisdom you have made them all.

You send forth your Spirit, and they are created.

And so you renew the face of the earth.

            Bless the Lord!

                The Lord’s name be praised.

*PROCESSIONAL HYMN # 128                                             On Pentecost They Gathered

*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE                                                      from Call to Worship

God of fire and wind, holy and powerful, mighty and mysterious,

we are drawn by your Spirit to this place.

As we gather and behold your glory,

we are aware of how unworthy we are to be in your presence.

We ignore your word, reject your gifts and fail your work.

Ignoring the truth of Pentecost,

we exclude those different from us, and divide our loyalties and hearts.

Let your Spirit burn away our sins and fill us with faith and courage,

so that we live into the promise of this day

and receive the fullness you have prepared for us all in Jesus Christ.

(silent, personal confession)  Amen.

*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE & THE PEACE                                  from Acts 1:8

To a freed and forgiven people Christ declares:

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you,

and you shall be my witnesses to the ends of the earth.”

Let it be so in us!  The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

                Peace be with you.
