we can greet and welcome you. After worship, visit the Information Center in
the Narthex.

TODAY’S CONCERNED
DEACON is wearing a yellow carnation. He’s in the Narthex after worship to hear
concerns.
TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. This month’s contributions go to N.N.E.M.A.P. (Near
Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program) and they request: toilet
paper, paper towels, baby food, instant milk, pudding, jello, canned meats,
body lotion and feminine hygiene products. Place food items in the grocery
carts in the Narthex along with register tapes. To donate money please use the
large envelope attached to the cart for cash, or checks made payable to
Overbrook Church. All donations are appreciated.
JOYTIME TODAY is
the responsibility of the Membership Committee. Next Sunday, August 10th the
Mission Committee is responsible. Committees pick up curriculum packets
in Room 101 the week prior
to the assigned Sunday. Each committee provides a small snack. Drinks are in
the Parlor kitchen.
SACRAMENT OF COMMUNION TODAY was prepared by Resting Deacons and as on all
Communion Sundays the loose offering goes to the work of the Deacons in their
continuing care in support of the congregation. Please join other resting
deacons as they serve at the reception in the Parlor following the worship
service.
TRINITY LUNCHES NEXT SUNDAY are the responsibility of the JBRC/Property Committee.
Meet in the downstairs kitchen following the service to prepare sandwiches, bag
cookies and pack sacks.
SUMMER BIBLE STUDY of selected New Testament books continues
today at 10:45 a.m. right after worship, meeting in the South Parlor for one
hour. Cheryl Hubbard serves as leader for this exploration of God’s word.
PARTICIPATE IN 2008 CARD PLAYING in the Parlor today from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Bring the
type of cards you want to play.
ANNUAL BOY SCOUT GARAGE SALE – AUGUST 16, 2008 9:00
a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets Wednesday, August 6th at 7:30 a.m. at
Tee Jays Country Place (Morse & High). All men are welcome.
BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS in Bill Leety’s office next Sunday, August 10th before
and after the worship service.
WE SERVE THE YWCA FAMILY CENTER next Sunday, August 10th. Sign-up sheets
are posted on the wall across from the Parlor for food items needed or to help
serve.
SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER ORIENTATION. There will be an orientation meeting for all teachers
of children and youth Sunday, August 17 at 10:45 a.m. following worship in the
Parlor. Please come preview the fall lessons, meet with your teaching team, and

BACK TO SCHOOL SUPPLY PROGRAM. It’s hard to think that another school year begins soon. Neighborhood Services, Inc., a
shelter that OPC supports collects school supplies for families that can not
afford them. Overbrook has supported this mission project for several years. A
collection box is in the Narthex for your donations. Supplies will be given to
neighborhood children starting Monday, August 18. Supplies needed are:
backpacks, pencils, crayons, washable markers, glue, rounded scissors, paper, 3
subject notebooks, pocket folders, erasers, highlighters, rulers, basic and
scientific calculators.
