Worship Service 10:30 a.m. in Sanctuary

THE LISTENING ELDER for August will be available for listening in the Narthex next Sunday, August 24. Feel welcome to convey to him any  matter in our congregation’s life that you would like to have passed on to the Session.

SUNDAY AUGUST 24 WE CELEBRATE HEALTH MINISTRIES especially the ministry of Elder Sue Mooney, Overbrook’s Faith Community Nurse.  During worship (9:30 a.m.) General Assembly’s Elise Woodward Stutzer Award will be presented to Sue by Sandy Pait, niece of Elise Stutzer.  Sue is the second recipient of the award, which is given at each meeting of the General Assembly to a woman who makes significant contribution to the health of her community and/or congregation.  After the service, General Assembly National Health Ministries led by Patricia Gleich are joined by Overbrook to host a “bruncheon” in Sue’s honor in the Narthex and Parlor.  Colleagues in local, Synod and General Assembly health ministries will join Session and congregation in toasting Sue’s work…which she insists is teamwork shared with the congregation she has served.  If you must be absent, send Sue a card or email!

GIVE THE GIFT OF LIFE! A Red Cross Blood Drive comes to Overbrook Monday, September 8th! The Wellness Committee is hoping for 45 units. There will be a table in the Narthex August 24, 31 & September 7 to sign up to donate. To lend a little fun to the day, everyone who donates blood will be eligible to win a prize.
