COFFEE HOUSE FLASHBACK! Remember Civil Rights sit-ins, hippies, JFK, RFK, MLK, mini-skirts, afros, tie-dye?  On Saturday, February 2 at 7:30 come to a candlelit coffeehouse in Fellowship Hall where you can step into the turbulent 60’s as local resident (and PRI reporter) Bill Cohen guides us through the decade with folksongs, news reports, displays, posters, trivia questions, and far out 60’s fashions.  This program is open to the community, so you are encouraged to bring your friends and neighbors for this special event.  The program is geared to adults and mature teens.  A $5.00 donation is suggested to support the Clintonville-Beechwold Community Resources Center.

MARK THE DAY!  -  JANUARY 27, 2008!  -  CELEBRATE GOD’S CREATION!

We will gather for worship in thanks and celebration for God’s wonderful gift of creation. Greg Hitzhusen, PhD., will lead us in discussion and worship on our theme of the day. Dr. Hitzhusen has a B.S. in ecology from Cornell University, an MDiv from Yale Divinity School, concentration in ecotheology, and a PhD in Faith-based environmental education. Greg is a Lecturer in the Ohio State University School of Environment and Natural Resources and is working to develop programs with the Ohio Council of Churches and local seminaries. On January 27th, Greg will lead a discussion at 9:00 am in the Adult Forum on what churches all over the country have been doing in caring for and stewardship of our planet and the environment in which we live. At 10:30 am, he will preach at morning worship, assisted by Overbrookers who have been active since the spring of 2006 in raising awareness of what we can do as good stewards of God’s precious gift. Come and give thanks, and learn simple things that you can do to be a good steward.
