HONOR OUR VETERANS!   Presbytery of Scioto Valley is sponsoring a worship service to honor all veterans this evening, at 7 p.m. at Covenant Pres. Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Road, Upper Arlington. Prayers of thanks will be made for sacrifices of military personnel.  Lt. Col. Robert Bramlish, will speak about ways for congregations to help families of deployed soldiers. Rev. John Groat, (Pastor Emeritus, Marysville Pres. Church) will preach.  The offering will be for Operation Military Kids Camp, to send children of deployed Ohio soldiers to camp. A reception follows worship.

 

CLINTONVILLE 5K RUN/WALK FOR CHARITY. May 26th, Memorial Day, is Clintonville’s first annual 5K EAST Ring Around the Roses. All proceeds from this 3.1 mile run or walk go to CRC. F.O.O.D. SUNDAY IS JUNE 1. Contributions go to Neighborhood Services who request: jams or jellies, Tuna and Hamburger Helper, canned pastas, all kinds of baby food, cereal and personal hygiene products. Place items in grocery carts in the Narthex.

 

TRINITY LUNCHES ON JUNE 1 are the responsibility of New Beginnings. Meet in the downstairs kitchen following worship to prepare sandwiches, bag cookies and pack sacks.  Overbrook provides lunches again June 29—cookies are needed.

SUMMER APPROACHES & TIME for Strawberry and Ice Cream Social, Sunday, June 1, at 11:45 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.   Menu is picnic fare of sloppy-joes, baked beans, chips, relish tray and, of course, strawberries, ice cream and cake!  Cakes are needed as well as cooks and waiters—sign-up in the office to let us know you’ll bake and/or serve.

 

ANNUAL ROSE LUNCHEON THURSDAY, JUNE 5, 12 NOON in Fellowship Hall. Andrea Cambern, local channel 10 news anchor, is the speaker.  Tickets are $7 and can be purchased after worship in the Narthex or at the door.

 

A CARNIVAL ENDS SUNDAY SCHOOL YEAR. Christian Education Committee celebrates the end of another fun Sunday School year by giving children a carnival. Enjoy games, prizes, food and more. Come and invite friends, Sunday, June 8 from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.

 

RECOGNITION OF 2008 GRADUATES - June 8 during worship. If someone in your family is graduating, sign the sheet in the office or call at your earliest convenience. We would like graduates to be present and sit together in pews reserved. We have gifts to share.

 

RAINFOREST ADVENTURE is the theme for Vacation Bible School - July 14-18 (Monday thru Friday), from 6 – 8 p.m. Registration forms are available in the Narthex—take some for neighborhood friends. Help us with craft projects by collecting paper towel rolls for one of the craft projects, leaving them in a box in the church office. Check out the rainforest on the Narthex bulletin board, but watch out for the frog!

 

GUEST PREACHER THE REV. STEVE RICE - June 8 sermon focuses on ministries of healing and wellness.  Steve serves as Chaplain with Palliative Care and Oncology Medicine at Riverside Hospital.  He is an ordained Lutheran pastor whose experience includes more than 20 years with Riverside, our partner institution in the Parish Nursing program.

If you see something you really have enjoyed reading and find valuable – or if you think something has particular significance for the church, please write a note for Deb Bowsher and place it in her church mailbox as soon as possible.
