WORSHIP BAGS - Fun Sunday worship bags are available at the entrance to the Sanctuary for children Pre-K – 5th grade. The blue basket is for Pre-K – 2nd grade and the red basket is for grades 3-5. Please take a bag for your child and afterwards return the bag to the baskets.

CHRISTIANITY FAMILY TREE – Gather today in the Library at 11:45 a.m. to look at  similarities and differences between Lutheranism and Presbyterianism. Hope Boring, our resident Lutheran – will help lead the class. ALL ARE WELCOME!

 

LISTENING ELDER FOR NOVEMBER is Patricia Soderholm. She will be available for listening in the Narthex after the service today.  Convey to her any matter in the congregation’s life that you would like to have passed on to the Session.

 

POINSETTIAS ON SALE TODAY! The Chancel Guild decorates the Sanctuary with poinsettias again this year. If you wish to order plants, sign up on the sheet in the church office. Purchase them in memory or in honor of a loved one. Cost is $8.00 each. Deadline

to order is December 14. Plants can be taken from the Sanctuary after the 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Service.

 

TENTH ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE - Neighborhood Networks 11 and 13 gather today in the Living Room at the Forum from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Members of these two networks are invited to join in an afternoon of refreshments, activities and fellowship. Entertainment will be provided by The Clintonville Mothersingers. The Living Room is located on the east side of the Forum complex at 4590 Knightsbridge Blvd.

 

YOUTH EVENTS (Grades 6 – 12) - Meet at 5:45 p.m. in Room 33 to have game night and rehearse the Christmas Musical. Then on November 30 we usher during the morning worship so there is no youth fellowship activities in the evening.

 

MID OHIO WORKERS – Pledge a turkey! Pledge an hour! Overbrook is hosting Mid-Ohio Workers annual holiday baskets and need your help. They will be here on Tuesday, November 23rd to pack Thanksgiving Baskets and December 23rd to pack Christmas Baskets. If you are available either of these days to help pack the baskets, meet in the downstairs kitchen at 11 a.m. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

 

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets Wednesday, November 26 at 7:30 a.m. at Tee Jays Country Place (Morse & High). All men are welcome.

 

NO SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH. Have a Blessed Thanksgiving weekend.

 

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT is November 30, 2008. Normally loose offering on Communion Sundays goes to the Board of Deacons, but this month they will donate their portion of the offering to the Friendship Christmas Food Drive.

 

PLEASE REMEMBER A FRIENDSHIP CHRISTMAS BEGINS NEXT SUNDAY!

The Friendship Class invites YOU to help us fight hunger in our community by bringing non-perishable food items and personal care products to every meeting, rehearsal, youth activity, Sunday school class and worship service beginning next Sunday, November 30th.

 

TRINITY LUNCHES next Sunday, November 30, are the responsibility of the Stewardship and Worship Committees. Meet in the kitchen immediately following the worship service to make sandwiches, bag cookies and pack sacks.

 

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CAROL BUFFET – Sunday, December 7, 2008. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. We take a break to enjoy an evening of friends, food, and seasonal music. Bring a dish to share that will serve 12-16. Ham, turkey, rolls and beverage will be provided. The evening will be topped off with a Carol Sing-A-Long and a visitor from the North Pole. A Secret Santa Shop for children returns again, giving children a place to buy gifts. If you have items you would like to donate for the Secret Santa, bring them to the church office by November 30.

 

CHOIR CHRISTMAS CANTATA! Come, relax and listen as the Westminster and Chancel Choirs present Hal H. Hopson’s Sing Noel!, a festival of Carols and Poetry, on Sunday, December 21, at 4:00 p.m. Invite your family, neighbors and friends.

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS NOW! During the 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve Worship Service the children and youth of Overbrook will present “Once upon a Christmas Light”. The cast is filled and rehearsals have started. Come and enjoy.
