10:30 A.M. WORSHIP (Sanctuary) Fun Sunday Worship Bags are available for children Pre-K – 5th Grade outside the Sanctuary doors.

 

WELCOME, VISITORS & GUESTS - Sign the Friendship Pad in the pew pocket; with your address and phone number.  Use a visitor nametag so that we can greet and welcome you. After worship, visit the Information Center in the Narthex.

 

WORSHIP BAGS - Fun Sunday worship bags are available at the entrance to the Sanctuary for children Pre-K – 5th grade. The blue basket is for Pre-K – 2nd grade and the red basket is for grades 3-5. Please take a bag for your child and afterwards return the bag to the baskets.

WE SAY GOOD-BYE! For 5 years of distinguished and faithful service to the mission and ministry of Overbrook as Building Manager, we thank and praise Tom White. Congratulate him on his retirement after church or write him a word of thanks.

 

WE WELCOME John Wyckoff as Building Manager and Bookkeeper. Drop in to say hello to John, catch him after worship or Chancel Choir Rehearsal to welcome him to part-time staff work with the church. His office hours are: Mondays 9-12 & 1-4; Tuesdays 12-3 & 5-7; Wednesdays 10-1; Thursdays 3-6 and Fridays 12-3.

 

LISTENING ELDER FOR OCTOBER is available for listening in the Narthex after the worship service. Feel welcome to convey to him any matter in our congregation’s life that you would like to have passed on to the Session.

 

THE YOUTH FELLOWSHIP TO SELL CHRISTMAS WREATHS. Wreaths sell for $18 and are 20 inches in diameter and come with a red bow and 3 pine cones. They will be ready for pickup the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Place your order in the Narthex October 26, November 2 & 9. Proceeds support the 2009 Mission Trip.

 

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets Wednesday, October 29 at 7:30 a.m. at Tee Jays Country Place (Morse & High). All men are welcome.

 

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME ENDS NOVEMBER 2, 2008. Remember to set clocks back one hour on Saturday night, November 1.

F.O.O.D. SUNDAY IS NOVEMBER 2. This months contributions are designated for NNEMAP who request: canned meats, soup, pasta, hamburger and tuna helper, paper products and personal hygiene products.

 

VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST ON ELECTION DAY ARE NEEDED. In the event there

are long lines you will help people be seated in the building, serving them coffee or water

and help them with the waiting.

 

ADULT FORUM  - November 2 - Liturgical Arts Forum by OPC artisans.

 

TRINITY LUNCHES NEXT SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2 are the responsibility of the Wellness/Christian Education Committees.

LOOKING FOR WRITERS!! This year Overbrookers are invited to reflect on what this season of waiting means and to share those ruminations in the 2008 Advent Guide entitled “Expectations - Waiting Hopefully?” A sign up sheet indicating your intent to participate in this project is in the Church office. Deadline for submission is November 2. Submissions can be dropped off in the office or e-mailed to Lellett@overbrookchurch.org or dbowsher@gmail.com. Please call Deb at 309-0417 with questions.

 

ALL SOULS’ DAY – November 2, 2008. We thank God for the lives of our beloved who have died in the faith since November 2007. Give us names of those you would like remembered. Call the church office or mark the names on the Friendship Pad. The Sacrament of Communion will also be served on this day.

 

UPCOMING YOUTH EVENTS (Grades 6 – 12) - November 2 meet in the Narthex at 12:00 noon to go for lunch and Frisbee golf. Bring your own Frisbee and money for lunch. November 9 we meet again at 12:00 noon for drive-by-raking of OPC members’ leaves. We will be back to church by 4:00 p.m. on both dates. No youth fellowship on either of those evenings.

 

PRESCHOOL PARKING LOT ATTENDANTS NEEDED! If you are willing to give 

1 to 1 1/2 hours one day a week on a permanent or as a substitute fill in (especially when the snowbirds head south) please contact Ethel Hurley, Walt Beauvais or Dr. Matthews.
