SEPTEMBER IS “WEAR YOUR NAMETAG MONTH”! Do you recognize everyone sitting around you in
church? Do you remember their names? The Membership Committee is encouraging
everyone to wear their nametag during the month of September and hopefully to
keep wearing them thereafter. You may exchange your nametag that has a pin
clasp for one with a clip. Clip-on tags will be available at the nametag board.
You are encouraged to get creative with your nametag, if you desire, by adding
color, logos, borders, decorations. A member of the membership committee will
be available before and after the service at the nametag board to assist you
with finding and replacing your name tag.
SESSION CALLS A TOWN MEETING - September 21 at 9:15 a.m.
in the Parlor. The agenda will include: progress of the Gifts for the Future
projects (ramp, sanctuary lighting,
changing needs of Mission in this struggling economy), authorizing the
open position for pastor, beginnings of the Preschool year, the ministry fund
and cost of a pastor search.
CHRISTIANITY’S FAMILY TREE – Ever wondered what
theological ideas set Pentecostal, Anglican, Eastern Orthodox or Baptist
beliefs apart from those of Presbyterians? How do the LDS compare to other
forms of Christianity? Please join us One Sunday a month, beginning September 21 right after worship.
Deb Bowsher leads the class on the third Sunday of each month to compare and
contrast these traditions. We’ll look at Anglican beliefs this month! Our text,
Christianity’s Family Tree, can be
bought at the church office for $10 but is NOT required.
2008 BOARD GAMES will try convening
together with the card group on the 1st and 3rd Sunday
afternoons at 2:00 p.m. in the Parlor. We will re-evaluate after the first of
the year.

Orchestra. Forum runs from 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.

CELEBRATION GARDEN BRICKS. We are putting together
an order to have bricks engraved for the Celebration Garden. Now is the time to
order your brick to celebrate a special event in your life – new child,
graduation, birthday, or just to celebrate and honor the life of someone
special. Memorial bricks are also available to honor the memory of a family
member or friend who has passed away. The cost is still $50 for each brick.
Order forms are available in the office. If you have questions, contact John
Deeth or Elaine Nordstrom.
