*CALL TO WORSHIP
from Romans 10:
5-15, Call to Worship
The word is near to you, on your
lips and in your heart.
No one who believes in Christ will be put to shame.
God is generous to all who call on
God.
Everyone who calls on the name of the Holy God shall
be saved.
LIGHTING THE CHRIST CANDLE
*HYMN # 482 Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty
*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE (Unison) from Call
to Worship
Merciful God,
You are generous to all who call on you.
You love without condition or distinction, inviting
everyone to know you.
Yet we are biased and self serving, stingy with our
affections.
We pick favorites, harbor jealousies, and lash out at
those who anger us.
Forgive us, O God, for smallness of heart.
Assure us of your love for us, and enlarge our sympathies
for others,
so that in
word and deed we proclaim your salvation to the world.
(time for
silent, personal confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF PARDON &
THE PEACE
from Romans 10: 5-15
God is generous to all who call on God.
The word is near to us, on our lips and in our hearts.
Everyone who calls on the name of
the Holy God shall be saved.
Thank God!
The peace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you.
(worshipers exchange words and gestures of the peace of Christ)
