The holy habitation of the most
High.
God is in the midst of the city:”

Short North,
at doors to
the Ohio Statehouse where legislators debate;
Along the Scioto and Olentangy where bikers ride, homeless people camp,
and herons pose and look for food;
In offices at Huntington and
LeVeque,
At the Palace
and Ohio Theaters, St. Peter’s Cathedral and East High.
“God is in the midst.”
Thanks be to God!
LIGHTING THE CHRIST CANDLE
*HYMN # 341 Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine
*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE from The Worshipbook, “Litany for Those Who
Work”
Lord God: you are
ever at work in the world for us and for all humankind.
We confess that we spoil our work
and yours:
sometimes laboring without hope, or
without interest.
We
have too little leisure or too much leisure,
are underpaid or overpaid,
or fail to discern our work from our
call.
Forgive,
O Lord, and work through us,
and help us
always work for you.
(time for
silent, personal confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE & THE PEACE from Romans 10:5-15
God is generous to all who call on God.
The word is near to us, on our lips and in our hearts.
Everyone who calls on the name of the Holy God shall be
saved.
Thank God!
*THE PEACE
The peace of our Lord Jesus
Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you.
