*CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 145:8-9
God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and
abounding in steadfast love.
God does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our wrongs.
As the heavens are high above earth,
So great is God’s steadfast love towards those who revere God.
*PROCESSIONAL HYMN # 327 O Word of God Incarnate
*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE from
Call to Worship
“Forgive us our debts as we forgive
our debtors.”
So
we pray, O God: yet we confess
our lives show little mercy.
We pass judgment on people who think and live differently from us.
Suspicion, jealousy, and quarrels infect our relationships
and keep us from building communities of welcome and trust.
Merciful, God, again we ask your forgiveness.
Teach us to extend to others what we receive so generously from you:
gracious acceptance, saving help, love that binds us together.
(time for silent, personal
confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE & THE PEACE
God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and
abounding in steadfast love.
God does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our wrongs.
The
peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you.
(worshipers exchange gestures
and words of the peace of Christ)
