COMMUNITY GARDEN PROJECT — OLD FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, located near downtown, has developed several community gardens as part of its mission.  Food grown in the gardens is shared with the community—a community where good, fresh vegetables are needed.  Overbrook plans to help in this mission with several “work days.”  On the first of the work days, which will occur on a Wednesday evening or Saturday in May, a team or two of Overbrook workers will car-pool to the Old First neighborhood and help in garden bed preparation and planting.  Whether you are a seasoned gardener with a green thumb, or a “greenhorn,” we need your help!  Watch for further details on the bulletin board and on Sundays. For more information call either Carol Bessey (263-4869).

WE LEARN

FOURTH NIGHT TAIZE WORSHIP TONIGHT – Gather in the sanctuary at 6:15 for meditative worship in Taize style.  At 7:00, the Faith & Fiction Book Group discusses A Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. A story about triumphing against great odds but also a tale of unconditional love in a family that, despite its great flaws, gave the author her fiery determination to succeed.
