SUNDAY FUN ACTIVITY BAGS - Sunday Fun Activity bags are available at the entrance to the Sanctuary for children Pre-K – 5th grade. The blue basket is for Pre-K – 2nd grade and the red basket is for grades 3-5. Please take a bag for your child and afterwards return the bag to the baskets.

TODAY’S CONCERNED DEACON is Lorie Ellett.  Wearing a yellow carnation, she’s in the Narthex after worship to hear concerns.

 

FLOWERS IN THE SANCTUARY TODAY are provided by the Chancel Guild.  There are many dates still available on the flower calendar found in the church office.

 

YOUTH FELLOWSHIP TONIGHT (Grades 6 – 12) – Meet at church at 5:45 p.m. for dinner.  The group will then talk about New Year’s Resolutions and how we can prepare for the new year.  On January 11 game night will be held from 5:45 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

 

OVERBROOK BELLES – Just a reminder that Overbrook Belles will have practice on Monday, January 5, at 6:00 p.m.

 

PLEDGE PROGRESS - To date, Stewardship has received 188 pledges for the 2009 campaign totaling $410,135. Finance has not finalized the 2009 Operating Budget, but we are still short of the preliminary goal by approximately $104,500. If you have not yet returned your pledge card, please thoughtfully consider that Overbrook needs your help in reaching its goals.

 

F.O.O.D. SUNDAY IS TODAY.  This month’s contributions are for the Community Resource Center (CRC). The Friendship Class collected for CRC during Advent, so any contributions collected today will be added to that collection.

 

TRINITY LUNCHES TODAY are the responsibility of the Deacons.  Meet in the downstairs kitchen following the worship service to make sandwiches, bag cookies and pack sacks.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS in Bill Leety’s office Sunday, January 11, from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 – 12:00 noon.

 

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets this Wednesday, January 7, at 7:30 a.m. at Tee Jays Country Place (Morse & High).  All men are welcome.

 

ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE.  Columbus Literacy Council provides free instruction to adults in reading and English as a second language and depends on volunteers to help with tutoring or other support services.  For information about enrolling in a program or to learn more about volunteer opportunities, call 221-5013 or visit the Columbus Literacy Council web site at www.columbusliteracy.org.  Information sessions about volunteering are offered at the Columbus Literacy Council office, 195 North Grant Avenue.  The next class will be held on Tuesday, January 6 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
