CELEBRATING MINISTRY WITH OLDER ADULTS – At Presbytery’s suggestion, Wellness Committee hosts a reception in the Narthex immediately following worship this morning, honoring the special ministries done with and older adults.  We hope all young, old, and in-betweens will celebrate with us.

 

IMPORTANT YOUTH FELLOWSHIP MEETING TONIGHT! (Grades 6 – 12)

We plan the Youth worship service for next Sunday!  Tonight is also registration deadline for Mission Trip. Bring your $50 non-refundable deposit.  If funding is a question: Bob and Hope have the answer!  No Fellowship Sunday, May 10.

WE WILL MISS YOU! Canterbury Ringers and Westminster Choir are ringing and singing for the final time this year. We have had a wonderful year.  We bid good-bye and best wishes to graduating seniors. We’re grateful for their years of serving God in the music of our congregation.

TODAY IS F.O.O.D. SUNDAY. Contributions go to NNEMAP who request instant milk, pasta, coffee, pudding, jello, baby food & juice, and canned meats.

 

TRINITY LUNCHES TODAY are prepared by Membership Committee. Meet downstairs in the kitchen following worship to make sandwiches, bag cookies, & pack sacks.

 

RECRUITS FOR NURSERY – To further develop schedules, and share other information, all recruits meet today at 11:45 a.m. in the South Parlor. If you are not a recruit (yet), but interested, join us for this meeting.

 

BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENING in the pastor’s office Sunday, May 10 from 10:00 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 12:00 noon.

 

YWCA FAMILY CENTER – Overbrook serves Mother’s Day supper May 10. Sign-up on the board across from the Parlor to donate food or serve the meal.

 

SPRING CLEAN-UP - Property Committee calls members to Clean-Up Day, Sat., May 16, 9 a.m. to noon. Plant flowers & spruce up the yard. Bring gloves, rakes, small shovels.

 

SESSION MEETS WITH CONFIRMANDS – May 16 at 4 p.m. in Fellowship Hall, after confirmands polish statements of faith and bake bread for Pentecost communion.  Session serves dinner to confirmands and their families at 5:30 in Fellowship Hall.

 

COMMUNITY GARDEN WORK DAY – Saturday, May 9, 9:30 a.m.—5 p.m.  Several years ago Elder Suzanne Hayes, who then served Old First Church as Commissioned Lay Pastor, led the church and neighborhood on a community garden project that continues to grow.  Old First and Four Seasons City Farm invite us to be in partnership with them planting, weeding, then having dinner and music.  For more information visit www.fourseasonscityfarm.org.  Garden plots are available.

 

MOZART’S CAFÉ TO HOST A DINNER FOR CRC - Monday, May 11, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at Mozart’s 2885 N. High St. location. Space is limited and an RSVP is required. Price is $45 per person or $80 for two. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL JUNE 22-26 - a week camping …but not overnight! That’s right! Overbrook CAMP EDGE is the place to be! Experience + Discover GOD Everywhere. Invite friends & drop in Columbus’ #1campground, 6 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. Get registration forms at either entrance to the building. Deadline for registrations June 19.

Out of love of history, long-time resident of Clintonville, Shirley has compiled a unique collection of vintage photographs and storied chronicling to tell the evolution of Clintonville & Beechwold from early settlements to today’s vibrant city neighborhood.

May17 – Dr. Sarah Sams – “Tools for Healthy Living” (Last Adult Forum until Fall)

 

 

WE GATHER

 

ITP COLUMBUS (Integral Transformative Practice) hosts an open practice session at Overbrook on Thursday, May 7 from 6:30 – 8:45 p.m. This is an opportunity to experience yoga and meditation. Wear loose, clothes that you can move in.  Bring a mat to lie on and a cushion for meditation. RSVP if you’ll attend at www.itp-internation.org.

 

MUFFINS WITH MOMS - Calling mothers and children! Join Christian Education Committee for Muffins with Moms Sunday, May 10, 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.  Menu is muffins, fruit, and beverages in your honor. Let us serve you breakfast!  After eating, children make necklaces for their moms. This is during normal Sunday School time.

 

YOU CAN HELP!  Youth Mission Trip travels in June to Camp Westminster on Higgins Lake in Roscommon, Mich.  Westminster offers summer camp experience to urban children & youth. Youth Fellowship invites you to partner with them for this important mission work by buying “Stock Shares”. Price per share is $5.00. Order forms are available at both entrances to church. We have 5 youth & 2 adults committed to the trip with more to come!
