LISTENING ELDER FOR NOVEMBER is in the Narthex following today’s worship to hear matters for Session to consider.

 

BACKUP DRIVER NEEDED for Monday mornings (after the 1st and 5th Sundays of the month) to deliver Open Shelter lunches when the regular driver needs a substitute.  If you’re willing to occasionally take lunches to the Open Shelter, call Lorie Ellett 261-1040.

 

FRIENDSHIP CLASS FOOD DRIVE – November 24 – December 24, 2009 to feed people during the coldest months.  Bring donations of cash; canned fruits, meat, vegetables, soup, macaroni & cheese, and cereal; baby care and personal care items to the Narthex.  Donations go to Clintonville Community Resource Center for distribution

 

OPEN SHELTER LUNCHES Sunday, Nov. 29, are packed by Wellness Committee. Meet in the kitchen following morning worship to make sandwiches, bag cookies & pack sacks.

MEN’S BREAKFAST GROUP meets Wednesday, November 25 at 7:30 a.m. at Tee Jays Country Place (Morse & High). All men are welcome.

 

LESSONS AND CAROLS – Come and join Chancel and Westminster Choirs for Lessons and Carols. We present Hal Hopson’s work on Sunday, December 20 at 4:00 p.m. If you have ever wanted to sing in the choir and just didn’t have time, now is your chance. OVERBROOKERS ARE INVITED to attend the ordination of Hope Boring as a pastor to The Evangelical Church Alliance on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m. at Center Village Christian Church, 13699 Center Village road, Galena, Ohio 43021.

 

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CAROL BUFFET – Sunday, December 6, 2009. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.  Take a break to enjoy an evening of friends, food, and seasonal music. Bring a dish to share that will serve 12-16. Ham, turkey, rolls & beverage are provided. The evening is topped off with a Carol Sing-A-Long and a visitor from the North Pole. Secret Santa Shop for children returns, giving children a place to buy gifts.

 

MOZART’S 3RD ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER to benefit CRC will be December 7, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.  Share holiday cheer and music.  Enjoy a full buffet dinner, fine wines, & incomparable Mozart’s desserts. Doris and Anand Saha, proprietors of Mozart’s, host the evening, continuing their long tradition of generous support of CRC. Suggested donations are $45 for an individual, $80 for a couple, and $250 for a sponsorship.

 

 

FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT – NOVEMBER 29

 

ADVENT EVENT & CELEBRATION! Christian Education Committee is pleased to sponsor a morning of Advent activities for all ages. Everyone is invited to gather Sunday morning, November 29, 9:00 -10:15 a.m. in Room 101. Carol Choir rehearses at 9:00 a.m. and will join festivities at 9:30 a.m.  Join other generations for food, fellowship and fun. Activities include making Advent wreaths, cards for homebound members, and ornaments. Join us as we begin preparing for Jesus’ birth and return.

 

INSTALLATION OF ASSOCIATE PASTOR MICHAEL LUDWIG by the Presbytery of SciotoValley is scheduled November 29, 2:30 p.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a reception hosted by Session of Overbrook.
