*CALL TO WORSHIP from Deuteronomy 10: 17-19 & 21
The Lord our God is God of gods and
Lord of lords;
The great God mighty and awesome,
who is not partial and takes no bribe,
who executes justice for the orphan and the
widow,
and who loves the strangers, providing them
food and clothing.
You shall also love the stranger,
for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.
The Lord is our praise, our God,
who has done for us great and awesome things
that
our own eyes have seen.

*CONFESSION OF WHO WE ARE
Lord
God of all people that on earth do dwell,
who
sing to you with cheerful voice, or pray to you in need or fear;
Holy
Maker of all the universe within known bounds.
and Ruler of the vast silent or singing space
of which, of whom, we know nothing.
We are
citizens of your kingdom and citizens of nations we call “home,”
whose flags and anthems raise us to our feet in allegiance and pride.
For the common good of peoples of earth,
Lord, we ask
that you broaden our sense of citizenship
to include all you rule, and to let us take joy in what is close to home
and to show compassion to all, no matter how distant.
Make
our loves more like yours; in Jesus name.
(time for
silent, personal confession) Amen.
*ASSURANCE OF WHOSE WE ARE & THE PEACE
The Lord is kind and gracious, abounding in love,
taking our sins away farther than east is from west.
Thanks be to God!
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Peace be with you!
(worshipers
exchange words and gestures of peace)
